  3. Crocktober Day 8 ✅️ This Creamy Fiesta Chicken was yummy! So easy to throw together, and it's cheap and for the most part pretty healthy. Give it a try and let me know what you think! Here's the recipe: . . . Ingredients: -2lbs chicken breast -1 can black beans -1 can cream of chicken soup -2 bell peppers - any color but green (sliced)  -1 can corn (drained) -1 can diced tomatoes -1 can diced green chiles -1 cup salsa -8 oz cream cheese -1 packet fajita seasoning Directions: 1. Add all of the ingredients – except the cream cheese – to a greased slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 7-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours.  2. 30 minutes before serving, shred the chicken, and add the cream cheese into the slow cooker. Continue to cook until the cream cheese has melted completely.  3. Stir well, then serve over rice, in a tortilla, with chips, or just by itself. #crocktober #slowcookerrecipes #chickenrecipes #easydinnerideas

This statistic truly blew my mind when I first heard it. 🤯 I remember teaching elementary school and looking at all the kids who’d come into my room everyday and my heart would truly ache for their parents. I found it so sad and truly just not right that I was spending more time with them day to day than their own parents/family. I was also a bigger influence on them. And I realized as they got older it would only get worse. Now teachers have a special heart and do amazing things for those that need that route. But I’m guessing you’re here because that just doesn’t feel right to you. Well it didn’t to me either. I knew I wanted different for my kids. I knew I wanted more. The biggest thing for me was time. Time is too easily taken from us when we conform to what society wants us to do.   2. Something about when society tells me it’s time to give my children to them for the majority of the day makes me so, “No thanks.” It just didn’t feel right to me. If it’s on our heart to keep your kiddos home. To teach them about life. To not be a societal norm. To choose to do something different. THOSE FEELINGS ARE VALID. Don’t push them aside. Go for it.   3. I know that first year I decided to keep my oldest home this was about the time of year I had a hard time. I thought I was failing him. I was so worried about what he was missing. I felt a sadness that he wasn’t going. Now I see those pictures and I’m happy for my friends and their children. I feel happy that they’re happy. I see those photos and feel immense gratitude for the life we’ve chosen. Knowing that we’re creating a life for them that’s specific to them. Realizing just how amazing life can really be. No more sadness. No more questioning. And if you’re in the spot right now of feeling ALL the feelings. I get it. I understand. They are valid and meant to be felt. But keep going because I promise what’s on the other side is much sweeter. 🫶🏻
