  2. Eek! Hi, it’s ayako ☺️ soooo, my recent viral post is now a free printable mini-zine!🤩Author, poet, and artist @sharonfrancesme turned my words into a mini zine using linocut printing, a historic form of activist art used to amplify voices in movements for justice and liberation. Did You Know? Linocut printing is a 20th-century evolution of traditional woodblock printing, an ancient technique used for centuries to share stories, messages, and movements. Linocut became a go-to for activists because it’s bold, fast, and accessible; perfect for printing posters, pamphlets, and protest art. These aren’t just prints, they’re blueprints for raising free and fearless kids. They speak truth not just for us, but for the world our children deserve. How To Use It: 🖨️ Print and share this zine at your next rally. 📚 Add it to your classroom, waiting room, or kids’ bookshelf. 📲 Post it online and tag Sharon at @sharonfrancesme Download the zine via the QR code and browse her site for more free activist art, children’s books, and creative tools. Want to go deeper into the ideas behind the zine? Check the pinned post on @mamasmatterhere or head to my linktree to read the full Parent Guide. Let’s raise kids who question, care, and create change. **had to add some photos at the end of my kids last night printing out and reading “mummy’s comic book” 🥹 It was such an incredibly proud moment and I’m so grateful that @sharonfrancesme brought it into existence 🫂🥰🙏 excited to collab more in the future! And if you’re looking for aligned parenting/pro-liberatory folks to follow, I highly recommend: Parent Focused: @latinxparenting @untigering @these_reveries @its.themamaspace @raisingreaders @fernando.deveras Not Parent Focused: @redmaat_collective @pat.radical.therapist @drblackdeer @decolonizingtherapy I know I’m forgetting so many so I’ll let y’all tag more in the comments 🙏🥰

  3. **UPDATE: This post has been turned into a free mini zine by @sharonfrancesme that you can print and share! Link to the files are in my bio 🥰** The world doesn’t need more kids trained to compete, climb, and consume. It needs kids who think with others. Who ask, “Is this fair?” “Who does this help or hurt?” “How can we do this together?” Raise dreamers. Collaborators. Liberation-lovers. Let’s grow kids who know that success isn’t stepping on others, it’s lifting them up. Full Parent Guide on Talking to Kids About Global Conflicts in my bio 🥰🙏 You got this. If you’ve resonated with my content or learned something from me, please consider purchasing this guide or gifting it to a friend. I run this Instagram page for free, on my own time (that I could easily just be focusing on my family). Trying to learn how to empower myself - to know my value - and that I don’t owe anyone my free labor. Purchasing it also allows me to offer things for free for marginalized groups. MUTUAL AID EXAMPLE: Two months ago I offered the Parent Guide for free to any Filipinos or families who had been impacted by the Lapu Lapu Festival tragedy in so-called Vancouver. A man had driven his car through a packed street festival celebrating Filipino culture and history. Eleven people were killed, aged from 5 to 65 years old. Around 125 copies of my guide were downloaded by families who were trying to hold space for such unimaginable grief and trauma of their children. Thank you for supporting me and my family, for wanting to enrich you and your family’s emotional capacity and also for helping those 125 hurting families. You’re awesome.

  1. Baby Hafþórsson made his world debut yesterday, September 26th 2020 at 39 weeks at 3530 grams and 52cm. . At 5:00 AM I woke up to pee and felt a small gush. I wasn’t sure if it was my water or the evening primrose suppository I took the night before. I went back to bed and started feeling some cramps but still wasn’t sure if I was going into labour. After about twenty min and a few cramps later I got out of bed and felt another gush. After this I knew I was in labour and decided to lay back down, let Hafþór sleep and see how things went. After some more cramps, more water and some mucus plug, Hafþór woke up a little and I let him know I was losing my water. He immediately flew out of bed and asked if we were leaving or if we should at least call the midwives! I calmly explained that we would wait a bit, we didn’t know how long things would take to get moving. At this point we started timing my contractions and they were just under a minute with a five minute rest. I decided to take a quick shower and wash my hair. In between contractions, we made electrolyte drinks, some food and got ourselves ready. At shortly after 7:00AM We called @eyruntj to come photograph as well as our doula and midwife to update, I ended up passing the phone to Hafþór as I needed to vomit right after a strong contraction (which I did once more throughout the labour). Our midwife arrived shortly before 8:00 and checked me to find I was 5cm dilated. We decided I would try the bath at home but after she checked me my contractions started coming for over a minute every 2-3 minutes. We then made the call to move to Björkin, the birthing center. At 8:40AM we arrived after a brutal car ride where I started using deep vocals as a pain technique. I just wanted to get into the birthing pool once we arrived, I paced around between contractions and when one hit I would lean over and Hafþór would squeeze my hips. By 9:00 AM I was in the pool and finally felt some relief, enough that I was able to gather myself a bit between the first few contractions. Right away my body gave me the urge to start pushing and I trusted my body and urge and went with it. . Continued in comments!

  2. My point of view is that high vitamin K levels at birth could interfere with the beneficial effects of cord blood stems from the understanding that stem cells in cord blood play a vital role in healing any damage or trauma that may occur during childbirth. Cord blood is rich in stem cells, which are crucial for tissue repair and regeneration, including healing after the physical stress of birth. These stem cells help to repair damaged tissues in the baby, ensuring better recovery and adaptation post-delivery. When blood clotting is elevated due to high vitamin K (because that's what it's doing), the movement of cord blood and its stem cells might be hindered, potentially reducing the body’s natural ability to heal injuries effectively. Research highlights how stem cells from cord blood have neuroprotective and regenerative properties, showing their importance in healing tissues like the brain after birth trauma. For instance, trials have shown stem cells' role in helping repair brain damage from prenatal strokes. The liver of a newborn does not begin to function until 3 or 4 days after birth. As a result your baby has very limited ability to detoxify the large dose of synthetic vitamin K and all the questionable ingredients in the injection cocktail, including: • Phenol (carbolic acid a poisonous substance derived from coal tar. • Acetic acid (astringent, antimicrobial agent) • Propylene glycol (better known as antifreeze and a hydraulic in brake fluid) From the website of National Institutes of Heath - Vitamin K1 Injection: "Severe reactions, including fatalities, have occurred during and immediately after Intramuscular injection of phytonadione, even when precautions have been taken to dilute the phytonadione and to avoid rapid infusion. 💡 Do you want to learn about this important topic or make your own confident decision? 2. ~2 years ago i wanted to quit medicine - completely. i have wanted to be a physician ever since I was 7 years old, so this realization was quite foundation shifting. I loved medicine. But the system and the business of healthcare was in direct conflict with the actual "care" in healthcare: both for patients and their physicians. For physicians, the system contained a lack of autonomy and the prioritization of volume over value. It created a lack of boundaries between professional and personal time and criticized physicians for not reaching a target that was ever moving and unreachable from the start. The practice of medicine was no longer... beautiful. It was frustrating and filled with inadequate time, moral injury, increasing demands and expectations and dwindling support and transparency. I had personal encounters with physicians, in which I was the patient, that were.. exhausting and disheartening. I remember thinking to myself, "is this what medicine has become? Is this all that healthcare is capable of?" There are not a lot of ways to gain some semblance of control, autonomy and choice as a physician within this current healthcare system. In the reel I describe a few changes that I made, which truly felt like a breath of fresh air. Those changes helped me remember why I went into medicine and also helped me learn how to prioritize myself, professionally. There have been many amazing physicians that have exited the clinical practice of medicine since 2020 and many more plan to leave by 2025. Hopefully the content in this reel helps someone else the way that it helped me. ❤️ with love, dr chimmy, md 💋
