  1. On multi day hikes every ounce matters 😅 3 things I’m no longer bringing: 1. A collapsible camp chair. It only weighs 2 lbs but after hiking 30km, my back would rather carry less than be supported by a chair. Instead I bring a sit pad which is also handy at the door of your tent. 2. Disposable travel toothpaste, I switched to tablets, they can’t melt or freeze and they’re super light. 3. Band-aids. Instead I use leukotape, it’s stay on for multiple days and can get wet. It’s so good to prevent blisters. I only bring enough to wrap around my lighter a few times. I use a peice of tissue under the tape if it has to be treated first and is not just preventive on my heels.

  2. Pros vs cons of hammock camping ⤵️ I have the @haventents original with the ultralight rainfly. Opinions are my own. Not spon. PROS • Lays flat and comes with an extra wide insulated sleeping pad (4 R value) • Great for side sleepers and I assume anyone with knee or back pain who can’t crawl into a tent • It's relatively affordable for a sleep system at $315 USD (tent+pad) • Rain tarp is highly adjustable and can close from inside the hammock if the weather takes a turn • If there's no trees around you can pitch it on the ground as a Bivy using trekking poles or sticks CONSiderations • Can't fit large dogs (sorry Kyro) • It is 6 lbs 8oz (which is a pound or 2 heavier than my backpacking sleep system setup • You can keep your bag inside but it was more comfortable outside under the tarp •Works best with included mattress, the Nemo insulated tensor sleeping pad I have didn’t work because the sides caved in • Make sure your head side is hung higher than the feet side and your butt is in the middle so your not slanted downwards

Things you should know before hiking to Everest Base Camp - If you get hurt, sick, and can’t make it, you’ll have to get a rescue helicopter which could run you $4000-$6000 depending on where you are. And we saw about 10+ helicopter rescues each day. - Every single thing along the trail (building materials, chairs, food, propane, etc) is hiked in on a porter’s back or by ox - Most people hike 12 days round trip, 8 days up (2 are acclimatization days), 4 days down. Hiking 6-9 hours each day - A guide company is 100% worth the cost, it includes flights, food, accommodation, filtered water, etc (I honestly think it saves you money) I’ll create a breakdown video on this - DON’T EAT MEAT, you will get food poisoning. The power often goes out, storage is questionable, and it probably took 5 days to get there on somebody’s back… - You can buy a hot shower (heated by solar), but it’s not recommended because then you’ll be wet and it’s hard to warm your body up afterwards
