  3. Time for a very personal statement: A few weeks ago, I needed a break. A break from politics, from being a public person, from social media. After the hardest last months of my life (on a personal and a professional level), I needed time to breathe, to root myself, to adjust my inner compass, to know my worth and to load my inner batteries that were almost empty. I struggled with smiling all the time, documenting everything for social media, keeping up conversations because I just couldn't deal with people anymore. Those who know me, know how much I love being among others, know that socializing, laughing, discussing, are part of who I am. I've got to know the limits of this part of me. The responsability I've been caring for my political party was huge and often heavy. The 5 years in parliament a day-to-day lesson in law-making, diplomacy, social skills and debating. The 5 past years leading a governing party, were all about introducing new projects, improving existing structures, keeping people together, encouraging dialogue and empowering a truly engaging membership. The past year, with 2 election campaigns, was paved with hard choices and decisions, tough lessons to learn, great and dedicated people and many fun moments too. I took some time off to reflect. Where I stand today after 5 years in active politics - wiser, tougher, more experienced, still incredibly committed to create a better world. About where my political party stands today, what circumstances we faced, what mistakes we did, what changes we brought to our country. What my next steps will be: starting a new job beginning of next year, steering the reflection and evaluation process of my party, planning the upcoming EU election campaign. But also: doing more sports, eating healthier, reading more, spend time with people I love and hopefully some moments of volunteering and scouting too. I honestly can't wait for 2023 to end. But I already look forward to come back home. Come back stronger. Wiser. Happier. Full of new ideas and thorough reflections.

Einige konnten nicht, und trotzdem war der Tisch schnell gefüllt, deshalb gibt es für alle anderen sicher bald eine Wiederholung 🤍 Meine lieben Freundinnen, ich möchte euch von ganzem Herzen danken – für euer Kommen, für die schöne gemeinsame Zeit im Garten und vor allem für eure großzügige Spende für Paulin. Mit eurer Hilfe unterstützt ihr ein ganz besonderes Schulprojekt in Kamerun. Paulin hat dort eine Schule aufgebaut, die Kinder aus der französisch- und englischsprachigen Bevölkerung zusammenbringt – in einem Land, das leider von Spannungen zwischen diesen Gruppen geprägt ist. Sein Ziel ist es, durch Bildung Brücken zu bauen, über Konfliktlinien hinweg. Dass wir ihn dabei gemeinsam unterstützen konnten, bedeutet mir sehr viel. Und so wurde aus einem Frühstück unter Freundinnen viel viel mehr.
