An IRONMAN in the SAHARA 🐫 ➡️ Wake-up at 4:30 a.m. Three slices of white bread with Nutella. Very short night, a lot of apprehension before the start. We arrive at the edge of the Oasis, in Taghit, Algeria, and it’s still dark. The atmosphere is tense, but there’s a fire by the water to keep us warm. Then the sun rises, probably one of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve ever seen. The Sahara hides so many treasures. 🏊🏻‍♂️ The swim begins in 10°C muddy water. I’m struggling after the first 200 meters, so I switch to breaststroke to calm down. “Am I already going to give up?” I push on through a 2km swim that feels endless. I come out in 6th place, even though I’m not a strong swimmer. Proof that this race was extreme! 🚴🏻‍♂️ I take off my wetsuit, put on my windbreaker, and set off for 10
