This is… Ontario. I know. I didn’t believe it either until I was standing inside it, surrounded by ice the lake had been building all winter, one frozen wave at a time. We spend so much money chasing winter landscapes on the other side of the world when this exists in our own backyard. Canada is hiding something extraordinary and most of us just drive right past it. Come in January. Come in February. Come before the lake changes its mind and takes it all back. Some places don’t need a passport. They just need you to show up. - 📍 Sawpit Bay, Lake Superior, Ontario - Captured on assignment for @ontariotravel Team | @darpaguandas @kenny_hagen Ice Cave Guides | @forestthecanoe - #wintertravel #icecaves #travelcanada

Possibly the best hike in Ontario?! 🍂 There’s a reason this view is one of Ontario’s most iconic. 🏞️ The Sleeping Giant — a massive formation of mesas and sills in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park — rises dramatically from Lake Superior, resembling a giant lying on its back. 🌊 According to Ojibwe legend, the “giant” was Nanabijou, turned to stone when the secret location of a rich silver mine was revealed. 📍 The formation stretches about 12 km and towers over 250 meters above the water. 🥾 Hike to the top, and you’ll find one of the best lookout points in all of Canada, with sweeping views across the world’s largest freshwater lake. Nature, culture, and legend — all carved into stone. Shout out to Thunderbay Tourism for partnering with me on this trip (2023). — @JGazze | Copyright Jonath

Where Art Meets Nature 🖼️ #Sponsored @ontariotravel I followed the brushstrokes on a Group of Seven road trip through Algoma and the North Shore of Lake Superior, stopping at iconic viewpoints, waterfalls, and trails that shaped some of Canada’s most beloved artwork. They believed that real Canadian art had to come from real Canadian places. And today, you can still visit the exact waterfalls, shorelines, and forests that inspired their most iconic works. You can literally stand in the very spots they once stood, sketched, and painted! Whether you’re an artist, a history lover, or just in search of soul-stirring views, this trip is a reminder of the power of nature and creativity. ✨ • • • @ontariotravel @neontario #Sponsored #DiscoverON #Neont #NorthernOntario #AlgomaCountry #DestinationO

Here’s what 4 days in paradise looked like for us. ✨ SAVE this for your future trip that you’ll want to plan ASAP! 🕒 📍 Have you heard of Pelee Island?
