We helped @thespayceproject intake 30+ dogs and puppies today. Our lobby was used as a temporary holding space, while rescues from as far as Idaho arrange to safely pickup their new pups. We will be keeping a few of these babies. We would LOVE your help getting the items needed to care for them. One day, we will wake up and not be faced with the constant and heartbreaking need to save innocent lives. Until then, we will be here, begging you for help so we can give safety, love, and a second chance to so many dogs in need. This week, we are trying to save puppies from the Bakersfield shelter, and the Lucerne desert. The Bakersfield animal care center has seen a 400% increase in their puppy intake over the last two years. That means more crowding, more forced euthanasias, and somehow an always shrinking budget. They beg us for help as often as they need it, and we try to make a difference. Meet Herbie! We rescued Herbie and his brother Marvin from the scary fields of Bakersfield, where they had likely been dumped 😞 @debfeldbloom worked her magic and got them picked up, fixed, and even found an amazing foster home for one of the boys, Marvin! @allisondunbar and @perlmutations have been taking such good care of Marvin, and we know that Herb will be a great house guest too, once he finds a foster home! A lot of people are intimidated by the idea of fostering a “big” dog (Herb is 60 pounds) and that disuades them from trying. But big dogs (especially this big dog) are sweet and chill and easy! Today I want to tell you about Delilah. Delilah deserves a special someone. I’ll spare you the details, let’s just say she’s been through hell. 💔 And you would never know it. She has the most open heart and resilient spirit🤍 She’s a miracle! Delilah loves all humans (even though the ones she depended on let her down. ) She loves children and other dogs. She’s about eight months old, so she likes to run and play! As you can see, she cherishes her toys. She never had those before. She is still young, so she will need a good amount of exercise and someone who will continue to work on her training. She has a foster mom, Julie, who is an angel on earth. Julie had never fostered before!! but she went into it with open arms and she is giving Delilah safety, comfort, and teaching her what it is

The last 3 puppies from @theboystv litter are waiting for furever homes! Kimiko is a 2.5 month old super mutt (SUPEr mutt 😂)! She and MM are mixes of Husky, Pitty, Great Pyrenees, German Shepherd, Australian shepherd and so much more. She will likely be around 50 pounds when full grown. She is a sweet, spunky, and playful girl who can’t wait to have her own home! MM is the most chill 2.5 month old you will ever meet. He’s clever, observant, and of course a loyal boy who loves his family. He’s a rare pup because of how calm and intelligent he is. He’d love to find his own adopters to go on adventures with!
