[#ad] Recently paid a visit to the @Tutankhamunlondon exhibition at @saatchi_gallery to see the treasure from his tomb before it goes back to Egypt forever. This is going to sound ridiculous but it's really hit me recently that people from the past were actually *people*; I used to feel a bit detached from history, like it was a film I could watch without believing it was entirely real, but lately I see a piece of clothing or a necklace or an ancient carving of a dog and I'm blown away by the fact that a person just like me made this, held this, lived their life surrounded by objects like this. Wild. ⁣ ⁣ The Tutankhamun exhibition is open late throughout January and February on Thursdays and Fridays so you can go there after work, and it's less busy in the evenings than at weekends, so you

🎨 Presented in collaboration with Long & Ryle, The Thread of Colour is a celebration of the life and work of Armenian-American artist Maro Gorky (b. New York 1943). The exhibition features a selection of important oil paintings spanning her career as an artist from the 1980s to the present day. Subject matter includes Gorky’s family, the Tuscan home she has lived in with her sculptor husband Matthew Spender since the 1960s, and landscapes from the Sienese countryside and beyond. 📅 Open NOW until 12 May. #News: To celebrate the first year of @homewardsuk , there are two exciting things coming 🔜 1) The Prince of Wales will star in a two-part documentary showing his first year of driving to end homelessness. „Prince William: We Can End Homelessness“ will air on ITV this autumn, providing a rare insight into his behind-the-scenes work. It will involve stories from those who are currently experiencing homelessness or have previously been homeless. My idea of walking around South Ken the other day was quickly ruined by the rain 🌧☂️ Luckily I just discovered the @gowithyamo app and instantly found a list of cool (indoor) exhibitions near me - like this 📷 from the Selfie Exhibition at the @saatchi_gallery! When creating this arrangement, my first thought was to create something that felt entirely unique and different—so my immediate idea was to make an arrangement where no two stems were the same. Doing this required careful consideration of all the different shapes and textures I could use to ensure they worked harmoniously together. The stem I started with was the magnolia branch, as it was seasonally perfect and created a good structure to work from; because of its architectural shape, it set the tone for what the rest of the arrangement should look like. To make sure the arrangement had enough bulk, I used a large Monstera leaf and hydrangea. The other stems were all very clean and minimal, without a lot of foliage, which created a contemporary feel.
