From nature, to the arts and food, Portland has so much to offer residents and visitors and it was amazing to hear about how small businesses owners and restaurateurs are bringing more diverse programming and offerings to the city. While making candles at Mr. Ok’s we learned that there’s actually been a few initiatives started by locals to enhance the experience and accessibility for the diverse communities. Meeting the folks who are doing that work gave context to our experience, making us feel even more energized about our time there. When you come home, you want peace and ease. Idk if I can say that I’ve really got that here in Los Angeles, so this moment to breathe and take in the culture of Portland restored me in so many ways. Summer is in full swing here in Oregon! One of the things I love about Oregon summers is how active the community becomes. There always seems to be something happening every weekend, and one of those things is @thewhitelotusfoundation’s Summer Market! ☀️ Thank you to The White Lotus Foundation for inviting me and gifting me some vouchers. #gifted The Summer Market is a free, family-friendly event meant to celebrate all things AANHPI! It’s reminiscent of open-air street festivals you’ll find all over Asia and also in some parts of the country as well. Rainbows in the snow 🏳️‍🌈❄️ This weekend we experienced a lot of firsts: @hoodriveroregon ‘s inaugural Winter Pridefest, alpine skiing for the first time (on a volcano), and our first winter pride EVER! And y’all… it hit different 🥹. We’ve never been to a Pride that was both a celebration of the outdoors and LGBTQ+ community simultaneously. Having nature, which is so healing for our community, intertwined in the programming made it so impactful. It was also amazing to be at an inclusive event that allowed trans, non-binary folks, and queer women like us to take up space because we’re not always represented at events like this. We learned to alpine ski in the company and support of fellow queer women and now we get to be that visibility for others (even if only on the bunny slope 😂). It

Multnomah Falls - Oregon. A waterfall in full flow is like a sapphire sky - peaceful, powerful, perfect. Multnomah Falls, you won my heart 🩵 It’s the tallest waterfall in Oregon, dropping a total of 620 feet in two stunning tiers. It’s one of the most visited natural attractions in the Pacific Northwest, drawing over 2 million visitors a year. Multnomah Falls is about 30 miles (around 45 minutes by car) from downtown Portland, making it a perfect half-day trip. If you don’t have a car, you can still get there easily: * Take the MAX Light Rail (Blue Line) from downtown Portland to Gresham Central Transit Center * From there, hop on the Columbia Gorge Express shuttle bus, which takes you directly to the falls It’s a smooth, scenic ride - and a great option if you’re visiting without hiring

My go to lunch spot in Portland! @Elephantsdeli Elephants Delicatessen has been a Portland icon since 1979! They were the first specialty food store in Portland, and one of the first in the country. Everything they make is homemade or locally sourced when possible. They have such a slept on lunch menu that has some BANGERS! Can’t go wrong with anything they have. Their grab and go, charcuterie, sweets, wine, and local goods are all expertly curated and top notch. With locations all over the Portland metro area, there is sure to be one close to you.
