The best part is that my husbandâs name is Mitch and my daughterâs name is Emma! đ You can watch âA Cherry Pie Christmasââset and filmed in Door County, Wisconsinâfree on Tubi or on Amazonâs Always Christmas channel! During our trip to Door County, which is only about a four-hour drive from Chicago, we stayed at @hillsideofdoorcounty, where so much of the film took place. And we visited @lautenbachsorchardcountry, which was every bit as beautiful in person. (Home of âParker Orchardâ in the movie!) We stopped by @novelbaybooksellers, where âMitchâ and âEmmaâ (the characters) see each other for the first time since high school... and we spotted the @doorcountytrolley, where they had their first date in adulthood. We took in the views at the Door County Maritime Museum lighthouse, and cozied

In just one day, I visited four really cool historic sites in Wisconsin: The shot tower at Tower Hill State Park processed raw lead and changed the entire economic development of this part of the state. A rock on the side of highway 136 seems like an unlikely National Historic Landmark, but Van Hise Rock is Quartzite monolith that was studied for important research by Charles Van Hise that would go on to form the entire basis of structural geology. Man Mound is the only effigy mound of its type left in North America, built sometime between the 8th and 13th centuries. In 1905, a road was built through the âlegsâ and destroyed 50 feet of the mound, but today, itâs a well-cared-for National Historic Landmark. Atzalan State Park: The visuals at this former Mississippian settlement were stunnin

The Yerkes Observatory in Wisconsin is known as âthe birthplace of modern astrophysics,â and recently, the important landmark of science reopened to the public. The main attraction is the Great Refractor, the biggest refractor telescope in the world, which first debuted at the 1893 Worldâs Fair. The telescopeâs 60 foot long tube seems even bigger in person. The Observatory itself was part of the University of Chicago, and some of recent historyâs greatest scientists worked or studied here. The observatory was designed by Henry Ives Cobb in a Beaux Arts style, and the entire structure is going through a restoration. That will ensure that this landmark of scientific progress will be around for future generations. For fans of science, I definitely recommend checking it out, located near Genev

Youâre not sad⊠you just need a 90s fall rom-com moment in Wisconsin.âšđ It was actually my first time in the Midwest, and thereâs something about fall here that feels straight out of a movie. I couldnât help but be in awe of the golden leaves swirling in the air, the cozy coffee shops giving small-town vibes, and the quiet roads lined with trees that look painted by hand đȘ”âïž Spending a few days around Eau Claire felt like experiencing fall the way you would in Gilmore Girls or Youâve Got Mail. It had that warm, nostalgic energy that makes you want to slow down and fall in love with the season all over again đđ€ Exploring Wisconsin felt like stepping into that magic: charming barns, pumpkin patches, vibrant foliage, local restaurants serving all things seasonal⊠The whole trip was perfec

Taliesin was Frank Lloyd Wrightâs Wisconsin home and studio, located on his uncleâs farm where he grew up. He combined his ideas of organic architecture with the backdrop of the rolling hills, and created one of his greatest designs. However, talking about Taliesin wouldnât be complete without acknowledging the scandal in its creation, and the tragedy that will be forever associated with the home. Like other Wright homes, thereâs an amazing attention to detail, an abundance of natural light, and consideration to every part of the decor. At the time of its design, his relationship with Mamah Borthwick was the subject of a media scandal, mainly because they were both married to other people. A consideration in the propertyâs design was to provide the couple with a relaxing place to live and
