Mountain Dew took things to a surreal level for the 2025 Super Bowl by turning the legendary singer Seal into an actual seal. Directed by Taika Waititi, the ad featured Becky G sipping on Baja Blast and entering a trippy tropical world where she encountered the Mountain Dude and a chorus of singing pinnipeds (seals). Seal delivered a hilarious parody of his 1994 classic hit “Kiss from a Rose”, swapping lyrics to celebrate the lime flavored drink while sporting flippers. It was a bizarre, musical journey that embraced pure chaos to remind everyone why Baja Blast remains a fan favorite. Whilst ‘researching’ for this project, I discovered that a Negroni can be made with vodka instead of gin. I then discovered that if the Vodka Negroni was a person, it’d be a 2,30m tall bare-knuckle fighting Swede trained to kill by the Neapolitan Mafia. Thankfully he doesn’t star in this film, but if your favorite drink is a Cosmopolitan, Dry Martini or Bloody Mary, well then get to see them personified.
