Just in time for #CelebrateColorado, we’ve welcomed two new Rocky Mountain bighorn lambs to West Sheep Mountain! Amber and Violet, both first-time moms, gave birth just days apart earlier this month. As Colorado’s state animal, we’re especially excited to celebrate these special arrivals! 🖤 🖤 Both babies are doing well! Violet’s lamb is thriving on the mountain with the herd, and while Amber’s lamb needed a little extra support from our dedicated Animal Care and Health teams after a challenging start, she’s doing much better now. Thanks to their expert care, she’s now healthy, happy, gaining strength, and will soon rejoin the her herd! No, you’re not seeing double, we have a second joey to celebrate! 🎉 We’re thrilled to share that red-necked wallabies Lachlan and Cricket have welcomed a new arrival! This little one is a half-sibling to the older joey born to parents Adelaide and Cricket. Estimated to have been born around October 24, 2024, the joey is still spending most of its time tucked safely inside Lachlan’s pouch. Like all marsupials, it started out the size of a jellybean and will continue developing in the pouch until it’s ready to explore the world. Our Animal Care Specialists are keeping a close eye on mom and baby and are happy to report that both are doing well! They’ve also spotted the joey peeking out more frequently, a sign that it’s becoming curious about the world beyond the pouch. In the coming months,

Our Critically Endangered Eastern bongo herd is growing! Parents Howard and Fern welcomed a female bongo calf to the world on July 5.
