…some recent #bookmail…⁣ ⁣ It’s the thing I love most about running a book social media account…new books!! Yes, humble brag, but I do end up getting a LOT of books in the mail…whether they’re advanced reader copies (ARCs) or just books I pre-ordered (cut to me with 3 copies of THIS STORY MIGHT SAVE YOUR LIFE because of course I pre-ordered it months ago and forgot when I went to the bookstore this week), there’s no better feeling than coming home to a stack of book-shaped packages on the kitchen counter. And please accept my apologies, because I’ve done a terrible job of showing you what I’ve received lately. My bad, but here I am to course-correct, because even I am overwhelmed with a lot of the big (BIG) books hitting my doorstep lately.⁣ ⁣⁣ Thanks as always to the tagged #partner publi

This is a #pubday filled with really great stories. I love that. I’ve read over half of this pile already. What are you planning to pick up from today’s new books? • • WHIDBEY - A portrait of three women connected through one man in the aftermath of his murder ALL THE WORLD CAN HOLD - three passengers from wildly different backgrounds board a cruise ship bound for Bermuda shortly after 9/11 and learn en route that they can’t outrun their regrets about the risks not taken SHE FELL AWAY - A State Department diplomat must confront the ghosts of her past as she searches for a missing American woman in New Zealand THE EIGHTH LIFE - a novel of war, loss, love requited and unrequited, ghosts, joy, massacres, tragedy, and hot chocolate. This was the easiest ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve ever given. ONCE AND AGA

…bookmail… It’s been a minute since I featured some of the latest books to hit my doorstep, and oh man, are there a LOT of great books to get excited about. More on each of the featured books (swipe the carousel), but I’ve read a few of these, including… -THE AMATEUR by Chris Bohjalian: loved it. Bohjalian returns with an excellent literary suspense novel about an amateur professional golfer who finds herself at the center of a murder investigation when she’s charged with killing a caddy at her club course. It’s a character-driven slow burn read, and I thought it was fantastic. -EXIT PARTY by Emily St. John Mandel: no surprise, the author of STATION ELEVEN and SEA OF TRANQUILITY returns with a speculative fiction novel that explores parallel universes. The book is complex and thought-provo

𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲𝘀: ‌ Okay so I’m totally feeling the heat to finish this Booker longlist before the 23rd. We’re going to TX this weekend for my daughter’s parents weekend at school, and am hoping time on the planes can help me get through Seascraper and (at least) one more. ‌ The rest of this group are some of my most anticipated for fall, and ‘The Director’ I’ve wanted to read since before it came out but feeling like if I capture it on film it manifests my reading it for sure, right?! TY to the tagged publishers for the gifted ALCs, copies& ARCs #prhaudiopartner ! Pub Day Reviews Some quick thoughts on books out today! THE LIGHTBREAKERS by Aja Gabel (@prhaudio): I enjoyed the ideas explored here of memories, grief and doing anything to revisit the past after a profound loss. The light sci-fi elements made it an intriguing read but I wanted it to go a bit deeper. I liked the 3 narrators for the 3 perspectives. THE AGE OF EXTRACTION by Tim Wu (@prhaudio @aaknopf): I enjoyed Wu’s concise look at how the internet has come to the point of being dominated by a handful of platforms and how that has created new economic inequalities and supported the rise of autocracy. I also appreciated the hopeful potential vision Wu laid out, much needed while hating the world. Recommend thi

A pink #flatlayfriday featuring white pumpkins from Dad’s garden to try and keep it appropriate for #spookyseason. 💕🌸🐷🎀👙🐽👛🦩🎟️👚🍬💓🌺💄🩰🩷 I’m currently reading Big Kiss, Bye-Bye and it’s off to a promising start. @claire_louise_bennett_ writes so beautifully and I can’t wait to see where this takes me. The brief synopsis: A woman confronts the afterlife of intimacy, in a deeply tender novel by one of our most acclaimed and inventive fiction writers. • • Have you read any of these? Tell me which! I Hope This Finds You Well made my top ten last year, but I enjoyed all of these for very different reasons. • • Thanks to the lovely publishers for all of the #gifted books. I’m so lucky. • • #pink #ghosts #ihopethisfindsyouwell #thestorysheleftbehind #coloredtelevision #allthemenivelov

Ty, @prhaudio for the ALCs and the tagged publishers for the gifted copies. #PRHAudioPartner) Review - Airplane Listens I was on a couple long flights recently and I managed to sneak some time to read these four and LOVED them all. KING OF KINGS by Scott Anderson (@doubledaybooks): I had heard a decent amount on the Iranian Revolution growing up but I absolutely loved this account that delved very deep into the personalities and interactions. It almost read like a fiction novel and the narration by Malcolm Hillgartner flew very smoothly. ARTIFICIAL WISDOM by Thomas R. Weaver (@delreybooks): An election in the future for the leader of the world comes down to a questionable human and the first AI politician when a whistleblower approaches a journalist. The Sci-fi thriller was intriguing and

|| DECEMBER READING WRAP-UP || #partner || . My hat flew off just as I went to take this picture, which somehow captures my reading experience this month. I loved most of the books I read throughout December—I tried to make sure I got to as many of my unread 2025 books as possible, while also throwing in a random romance, a doorstopper I’ve had on my shelves for a decade, and some 2026 releases I couldn’t help but sneak in early. • Starting with backlist, I read two Tin House books, both of which I’d picked up last year—THE SKUNKS and THE BURROW. Both were charming and emotionally complicated. I also finally got to SO SAD TODAY, which is been meaning to finish for years—fascinating to see how her life and essays were reconfigured in her fiction. THE SIMPLE ART OF KILLING A WOMAN was fine,

|| HIGHLY ANTICIPATED 2026 READS || #partner || . I know there’s still a bit of 2025 to go, but I already know next year is going to be such a great year in books and I just wanted to post some of the ones I’m most excited to get to!! Some of my favorite authors have new books coming out and there’s a debut that sounds AMAZING! • Lauren Groff and Rachel Khong both have new short story collections coming out—I’ve read most of BRAWLER and it’s perfect, and it WILL be on the NBA list, likely winner. I loved Rachel Khong’s previous books (GOODBYE, VITAMIN is a fave) so I’m excited to dive into these. • Che Yeun’s debut, TAILBONE, sounds like it’s going to be a favorite—it’s set in 2008 during the global financial crisis, following a girl who runs away from an abusive home to live in a boarding

It’s another fantastic day for fall reading. I’ve read four from this stack so far. Which of today’s new books are you hoping to pick up? • • #TheWidow - a small-time lawyer accused of murder races to find the real killer to clear his name #TheMidnightKnock - A locked-room mystery meets white-knuckle horror in this mind-bending thriller, where strangers must survive a deadly night in a remote Texas motel #ThisIsTheOnlyKingdom - an epic novel of a mother and daughter wrestling with the aftermath of a murder, set against the backdrop of a tightknit, working-class barrio in Puerto Rico #BigKissByeBye - A woman confronts the afterlife of intimacy, in a deeply tender novel by one of our most acclaimed and inventive fiction writers #WildAnimal - a gripping domestic thriller that transforms into
