It’s simply not a trip to Marrakech without a snap in the iconic doorframe of the Medersa Ben Yousef, thems the rules. It’s my fifth time in Morocco, and if I’m completely honest, only about the first or second time that I think I actually like it here. I know that sounds a bit silly - why would you keep coming back if you don’t like a place? But I strongly believe that some of the best destinations take a little while to get the hang of, to unearth their secrets. Marrakech, for me, is one such. Adapting to the frenetic souk, the streets, discovering the secret rooftops and peaceful riads. It’s a destination that takes time, but it’s worth it. As to what keeps pulling me back, well that’s easy. It’s a design lovers dream, a paradise of ceramics and interiors and art and colour. We’re curre

Bosnia & Herzegovina was unexpected. We (Adam, my father and I), were road-tripping from Croatia to Serbia, where England played Serbia in Belgrade, and back. Bosnia & Herzegovina was on route, and none of us had ever been, so why not. A night in Sarajevo, a night in Mostar. Nothing more than a pit stop. As soon as we crossed the border, by bridge, from Serbia into Bosnia & Herzegovina, we knew it was different. The landscape became alpine - if you’d told me it was Switzerland, or Austria, I would not have questioned it. And then Sarajevo, just as the sky turned pink over the valley. Secret cobblestoned backstreets, stalls selling intricate handicrafts, those very European cafes spilling out on to the pavements with alfresco diners. A place we all unanimously agreed we had to come back to,

Thanks to the sheer proliferation of travel images and videos being fed to the many algorithms, I often feel like I’ve already seen a place before I’ve even visited. Now for the most part I don’t mind this - after all it’s those images that likely convinced me to visit in the first place. However it’s refreshing to occasionally visit somewhere with absolutely zero expectations. The Shandong Province in China was just that, a totally new experience unshaped by the social media gaze. I had never seen it on here before visiting, in fact, never even heard of the region prior to our trip. Sometimes shooting somewhere I’m not visually familiar with can feel like a chore, but Shandong was so beautiful it wasn’t hard to keep our camera busy. A sunrise walk around Daming Lake, capturing the golden

Catching the last rays of sunshine on a September weekend in Notting Hill, London 🇬🇧 The weather is definitely on the turn, so I’m trying to get out as much as possible before cosy season commences and I don’t leave the comfort of my duvet until April 2025… It had been a while since I’d gotten to West London, so Adam and I took a wander round some of our favourite Notting Hill haunts. I’m going to be real with you guys, as a London local, this is an area I spend very little time in. Truthfully, it’s very touristy, which means it’s very busy, and very pricey. That said, if you’re visiting London, I wholeheartedly do recommend spending at least a morning exploring the neighbourhood. It’s not popular without good reason! The beautiful pastel houses are so unique to the area, and well worth

Sunrise over Athens 🇬🇷 A moment from last week spent exploring the Greek capital, spent mainly tucking into gyros, finding all the best spots to see the acropolis, and watching England beat Greece 3-0 (for the record, 9:45pm kick-offs are not the one, but the score made up for it). Of all the aforementioned Acropolis viewing spots, this, Filopappou Hill, was probably my very favourite. We were plagued with pretty mediocre weather that meant many of my shoot plans were quashed, but this sunrise was one of the few nice mornings we managed to capture (although those clouds on the horizon soon brought in rain…). That said, I subbed in shooting for working my way around the city’s many excellent restaurants and bars, so expect a fairly thorough guide coming your way… If you’ve been to Athens,
