What do Olympic silver medalist @haley.batten and I have in common? Turns out, quite a bit and you can join our conversation on this week's episode of What's The Rusch. We share a deep passion for mountain bikes and inspiring more women and girls to ride. We are also both concussion survivors and advocates for better brain health support for athletes. Haley is one of the best and brightest athletes I've ever met. She shines and you'll feel it in this episode. Her winning ways began at age 14 and she's been smiling and riding her way to the top ever since. She's also a soulful athlete who embodies so much more than a pair of fast legs. Her multiple concussions have deepened her wisdom well and given her the mature knowledge to know when to push and when to pause. Tune in (link in

When I first got into running, I was proud of not “needing” to eat while running. I told myself I wasn’t a pro, so I didn’t need extra fuel. Plus, I felt fine. But I had it all wrong. It’s not about managing without fuel—it’s about giving your body what it needs to run longer, recover faster, and actually enjoy the miles. Even if you’re running for weight loss or don’t train every day, I still recommend fueling for any run over an hour. Proper fueling isn’t about adding calories—it’s about helping your body perform and recover so you can run more, feel better, and stay strong. If weight loss is the goal, timing your carbs around your workouts is a smart way to fuel efficiently. It took me years to find a gel I actually liked. I ordered every brand I could find on Amazon, and when I tried G

This episode of What's the Rusch is about identity. About the strength it takes to show up fully as yourself—even when no one else in the room, or on the trail, looks like you. Dr. Hebah Hefzy (@hibs82) is a neurologist, a mother of three, and the first Muslim woman to run in hijab and finish the Western States 100. Her story isn’t just about racing—it's about representation, visibility, and walking (or running) through life with purpose. We talked about what it means to start your fitness journey later in life, to carry cultural expectations while raising kids and building a career, and to show up again and again in spaces where you’ve never seen someone like you before. “If there's anything that I hope, it’s that being who I am and doing it as best as I can will make things bet
