  2. What’s under this red paint… 👀 Refinishing wood can be tricky, but these 5 steps are my go to for bringing the grain back to life! Here’s exactly how I finished it (save this 👇): 1: I slightly thinned my oil based stain with mineral spirits so it penetrated more evenly into the wood instead of sitting on top. Especially on maple, this helps prevent blotchiness and lets the grain come through instead of looking muddy. It also gives you more working time so you can wipe and blend without harsh lines. I didn’t use a pre-stain conditioner on this piece because on harder woods like maple, I’ve found it can actually interfere more than it helps. Instead of soaking in evenly, it can sit on the surface and reduce how rich the stain looks. Thinning the oil stain gives me more control over penetration and color build-up, so I can sneak up on the tone instead of forcing a uniform base. 2: I like using oil based stain over water based because it gives a richer, deeper tone and enhances the natural warmth of the wood. Water based can look a bit flat on pieces like this, while oil brings out that depth and movement in the grain. 3: After stain, I use a shellac grain sealer. This step locks in the color, evens out absorption, and creates a smooth base so your topcoat goes on more evenly. It also helps prevent that patchy look you can sometimes get in porous areas. 4: For my topcoat, I go with a satin oil based finish. Satin is my go to because it gives a soft, natural sheen. Not too shiny, not too flat. It lets the wood be the focus without looking plastic or overly glossy. 5: And the step most people skip, wet sanding between coats. This is what takes a piece from good to really refined. I use a fine grit sandpaper with water and lightly sand between coats to knock down any texture or dust nibs. It leaves you with that super smooth, almost silky finish 🤌🏼 Drop the word ✨LIST✨ for full product links messaged to you! 1. Have you tried Korean Bubble Masks? They are so much fun to use! I love that this one has snail mucin 🐌 for hydration and charcoal 🪨 for detox! This bubble works by cleansing pores with thousands of soft tiny bubbles and my skin looked much clearer after it. When you apply it, it is a gel-like texture and then it feels gently fizzy and foams into bubbles. 🫧🫧🫧 After washing it off, my skin felt really refreshed and I love that it’s quick to do - only takes 3-5 minutes from start to finish. 💨 I’ve been loving this routine to give my skin “pick me up” facial, if I am meeting someone special for lunch/dinner to have my skin look it’s best. 🥰 I follow it with a simple routine of hydrating toner, moisturizing emulsion (which is like serum and lotion in one) and a SPF and I am ready for simple makeup! ✨😎 Do you do something special with your skin if you are meeting someone special that day? 😜 *Products featured (#AD this is a paid collaboration; opinions are my own): Step 1: @theskinhouse_official Black Snail Bubble Mask: Cleansing wash-off mask for dull or acne-prone skin Step 2: @coxir_official Black Snail Collagen Toner: My skin drinks this up! Very hydrating Step 3: @theskinhouse_official Aloe Fresh Emulsion: Must-have for creating a minimalist routine as it’s a 2-in-1 Step 4: @coxir_official Ceramide Daily UV SPF50+/ PA+++: Great hybrid sunscreen that blends well and leaves a dewy non-greasy finish You can get this and all your Korean skincare at the cheapest price at @YesStyle with further discount with my code SKINLOVE5 plus free shipping and customs fee refund!

  3. AD•My skin freaked out completely when I got to London and pimples were popping up all over my T Zone. 😩 A combination of dry weather, hard water, period, eating different foods and jet lag was really affecting my skin. 🙈 The products I would normally use in Hong Kong was not doing the trick. My skin would feel so dry and oily at the same time and it would be very prone to breakouts and inflammation. 🌋 This is when I started using the Cica Green products from @xycos_official, designed for sensitive acne prone skin (that’s me!). 😅 What I like most about this range: - 🌿Headline ingredients were centella asiatica, spirulina and avocado – a great combination of anti-inflammatory sources and natural fatty acids. Exactly a combination my skin needed. - 🌊Spirulina is a algae and Super Food that’s recommended for cancer patients due to it’s potent antioxidant properties for nourishing the body. I was very excited to combine this into my skincare. - 💧Even though it is designed for acne prone skin, it doesn’t contain BHA so I don’t can still use my favourite spot treatments without worrying out overusing chemical exfoliants. This routine really helped my skin adjust to London and I was sooooo glad to have it. 🥰 This experience has made me learn how much we need to adapt our skincare when we change environments and seasons. I found that this freakout didn’t happen right away, it happened after I had been in London for around 1 week when I didn’t adjust my skincare. So don’t be like me… 😜 Have you noticed your skin changing due to the environment? *Products featured (AD – this is a paid collaboration with @xycos_official): - Cica Green Cleanser: Gentle gel cleanser that protects the skin moisture barrier - Cica Green Toner: Watery, quick to absorb and refreshing. - Cica Green Serum: Very hydrating gel-like texture that is non-sticky and quick to absorb. - Cica Green Cream: My favourite of the range, a complete life-saver for my skin and not too heavy but not too light. - All products are without any harmful ingredients (in accordance to EWG) and is vegan
