  3. Makes 12 fish cakes (around 6 starter portions- freezer friendly!) Ingredients: - 200g sardines (drained from the tins) - 600g potatoes, peeled then chopped into chunks - 12g chopped parsley - 12g chopped dill - 3 chopped spring onions - Juice from half a lemon - 3 tbsp flour (plus more for dipping the fishcakes in before cooking) - 2 tsp dijon mustard - Salt and pepper - Olive oil for frying - Serving sauce: mix 5 tbsp garlic mayo with juice from half a lemon, and 2 tsp capers - Rocket leaves to serve - Extra capers to serve - Lemon wedges to serve Method 1. Add the potatoes to a large saucepan of water and boil then simmer until they are tender. 2. Meanwhile, add the drained sardines to a large bowl and mash well. Then add half of the parsley and half of the dill to this bowl, along with the lemon juice and spring onion. Mix well. 3. Once the potatoes are cooked then mash them well and add this to the bowl of mashed sardines. Add the 3 tbsp flour, the remaining herbs, lots of salt and pepper, and the Dijon mustard. Mix well. 4. Mould this mixture into fishcakes on a tray, using your hands. Then sprinkle flour over each side of them (it is important they are covered with enough flour as this helps them crisp!) 5. Fry them in olive oil on a medium high heat for around 3 mins each side, being very careful while flipping them over as they can be delicate. 6. Serve with your garlic sauce and on a bed of wild rocket, along with some lemon wedges and extra capers. Note: you want to ensure the “dough” isn’t too sloppy when mixing it, if you need to add a little more flour and a little extra salt to the mixture before shaping into fish cakes then go for it. #viralrecipes #sardines

  1. You might want to sit down for this.. I thought it was just me until I realized that not everyone replayed conversations at 2am. Chose partners who kept them guessing, subtly competing, quietly proving their worth. I thought everyone scanned a room to sense who felt off, who might withdraw, who needed managing. I thought being the strong one, the capable one, the low-maintenance one was just my personality. It wasn’t. It was actually survival mode - for decades! A place where I constantly abandoned myself and called it adulting. When you’re in it, it feels normal to over-explain your “no.” To apologize for having needs. To feel pulled toward the slightly unavailable person and label that chemistry. To be hyper-independent but deeply tired. To say “I’m fine” while your jaw is tight and your stomach is braced. I shrank in ways no one could see. Laughed things off when someone crossed my boundaries. Diluted my opinions. Overperformed so no one could question my value. Took responsibility for other people’s moods. That low hum of anxiety felt like ambition. That hypervigilance felt like drive. My inner voice was harsh, demanding, never impressed. High standards that were never quite reachable. I forgot to drink water. Skipped meals. Lived disconnected from my body. From the outside it looked successful and disciplined. Inside it felt like pressure, urgency, existential fear pushing me forward. Rest felt unsafe. Slowing down felt dangerous. My life had been organized around avoiding abandonment. Outperforming my unworthiness wound. Normalizing inconsistency. Confusing intensity and overgiving with intimacy. For decades I was wired for threat and thought that was just who I was. Now I understand it was an identity built around coping. And here’s the truth: you don’t shame yourself for surviving a storm you didn’t create. You learn from it, you soften, and you build a life that no longer requires armor. Out of survival and finally start living ✨♥️🐦‍🔥 And if I did it so can you - I help you in my Phoenix program to do the same 👉🏼 DM PHOENIX for more information #survivalmode #traumainformed #traumasurvivor #hypervigilance mentalegesundheit

  2. Those dinner conversations with your sibling just hit different when you had childhood trauma (aka emotional invisible wounds) 😬🍜 When you’re living in a home where one parent’s mood dictates the entire atmosphere (often the case with emotional immature parents), it creates a constant state of emotional instability and unpredictability. (FYI: This kind of trauma often shows up later in relationships, too.) Everyone in the household learns to walk on eggshells, adjusting their behavior based on that parent’s emotional state- whether they’re angry, sad, withdrawn, or irritable. As a child in this environment, you develop hyper-awareness of subtle changes in tone, facial expressions, and body language - because your sense of safety depends on it. Emotional monitoring becomes your subconscious superpower 🦸‍♀️ You eventually find yourself people-pleasing (a fawn trauma response), staying quiet to avoid conflict, or becoming the “fixer”, trying to keep the peace at all costs. Problem: Over time, this leads to chronic anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and a deep-seated belief that your needs and feelings are always secondary to others! Growing up this way teaches you to suppress your own emotions and needs- because there’s no room for them when the entire household revolves around managing one person’s mood. As an adult, you might struggle with setting boundaries, feel responsible for others’ emotions, or constantly worry that you’re in trouble and often results in an “identity crisis” later on in life... Relationships can feel overwhelming because you’ve been conditioned to prioritize emotional survival over genuine connection. Emotional intimacy becomes a foreign concept even if you deep down crave it so much... it’s scary! If unresolved, this can lead to self-isolation, emotional numbness, or repeatedly attracting partners who mirror that same instability. And your survival identities keep sabotaging your happiness and depriving you from living life. That’s why healing is so important - not for them, but for you and your future self This is exactly what I help you with in my Phoenix program.. DM PHOENIX to join now ❤️‍🩹🐦‍🔥

  1. Update: prints now available on my website - linked in my story ❤️ The 2025 Mother’s Day Collection is on its way! The new collection will be launching April 10th. I’m so happy to introduce the first piece in the collection. This piece is a new version of a painting I created last year titled ‘I’ll Always Help You Grow’. I had so many requests for a three generation version of that piece, and could not wait to paint this. I am so happy with how it turned out! This concept was originally inspired by my own mother who diligently nurtured me as a young child. She poured everything into me and helped me to flourish. I am so endlessly grateful for her, especially because as I’ve gotten older I have realized how pouring into all of her children took away so much of her time and ability to water herself. I am in awe as I watch my sisters nurture and pour into their own babies, and I love seeing how my mom continually nurtures my sisters in their adulthood. They have their own babies, but they will never stop being her babies. This piece is dedicated to my mama and my sisters. Mom, it is a great joy and privilege to be watered by your unconditional love. Thank you for always helping me grow and flourish. To my sisters; it is a joy to watch you pour into your babies with that same love. I see your blooming even more beautifully as you help their little buds sprout and grow. This piece will be available on April 10th! If there are any other hair/skin color variations you’d like to see, please let me know in the comments 🫶🏼🫶🏼
