  2. Penguin Pelvis Meets Neck Isometrics 🐧 This is one of those MoveMed movement snacks where the body and brain have a proper conversation. Knees softly straight. Ankles quiet. No calf bouncing. You gently hike one side of the pelvis, then the other. Left. Right. Repeat. At the same time, you press your head into your hand without letting the head visibly move. Simple to watch. Very different to feel. 1ïžâƒŁ Pelvic Endurance The Penguin Pelvis is a hip hike endurance drill. You are not lifting through the ankles. You are asking the pelvis, hips, deep stabilisers, glute medius, quadratus lumborum, deep rotators and spinal system to keep working. Going to form failure means you stop when the movement quality drops. Not when you are destroyed. When the body starts borrowing from the wrong places, the set is done. 2ïžâƒŁ Neck Isometrics On A Moving Base The neck isometric asks the cervical muscles to generate force while the head stays still. This can be useful for neck strength, control and confidence. But now we are adding it on top of a pelvis that is constantly changing position. A game changer for neck pain and movement longevity. 3ïžâƒŁ NRE This is part of Neural Re-Education. The assisted relearning of safe, pain-free movement through novelty, repetition and control. And in collaboration with trauma therapy, this is where the conversation gets really important. Emotional stress, trauma and chronic pain can influence each other. Stress can increase protective tone. Pain can increase threat. Threat can change how safe the body feels. So this is not “trauma stored in one muscle”. It is a gentle way to give the body safe movement input while the nervous system learns that movement can be controlled, calm and non-threatening again. Movement does not replace therapy. But it can support the body while deeper therapeutic work happens. 3. 🙄🍜Yep, this dinner conversations with your sibling just hit different when you grew up with childhood trauma aka emotional invisible wounds and still live in chronic hypervigilance and survival mode. When one parent’s mood dictated the entire atmosphere in the home, which is often the case with emotionally immature or emotionally unpredictable parents, you didn’t grow up feeling emotionally safe. You grew up emotionally alert. Everyone in the household learned to walk on eggshells, constantly adjusting their behavior depending on that parent’s emotional state whether they were angry, withdrawn, irritable, cold, explosive, or emotionally unavailable. As a child, you became highly aware of tone shifts, facial expressions, energy changes, footsteps, silence, body language, and tension because your nervous system learned that safety depended on reading the room correctly. Emotional monitoring became your subconscious survival strategy. You may have become the people pleaser, the peacekeeper, the quiet one, or the fixer trying to prevent conflict before it even happened. But over time, this creates chronic anxiety, emotional exhaustion, hypervigilance, and a deep internal belief that your feelings, needs, boundaries, and emotions come second to everyone else’s. You learned to suppress yourself because there was never really space for you emotionally. And later in life, this often shows up in relationships too: overexplaining, fear of conflict, difficulty setting boundaries, feeling responsible for other people’s emotions, constantly worrying you’re “in trouble,” and eventually not even knowing who you truly are underneath survival mode. 1. Update: prints now available on my website - linked in my story ❀ The 2025 Mother’s Day Collection is on its way! The new collection will be launching April 10th. I’m so happy to introduce the first piece in the collection. This piece is a new version of a painting I created last year titled ‘I’ll Always Help You Grow’. I had so many requests for a three generation version of that piece, and could not wait to paint this. I am so happy with how it turned out! This concept was originally inspired by my own mother who diligently nurtured me as a young child. She poured everything into me and helped me to flourish. I am so endlessly grateful for her, especially because as I’ve gotten older I have realized how pouring into all of her children took away so much of her time and ability to water herself. I am in awe as I watch my sisters nurture and pour into their own babies, and I love seeing how my mom continually nurtures my sisters in their adulthood. They have their own babies, but they will never stop being her babies. This piece is dedicated to my mama and my sisters. Mom, it is a great joy and privilege to be watered by your unconditional love. Thank you for always helping me grow and flourish. To my sisters; it is a joy to watch you pour into your babies with that same love. I see your blooming even more beautifully as you help their little buds sprout and grow. This piece will be available on April 10th! If there are any other hair/skin color variations you’d like to see, please let me know in the comments đŸ«¶đŸŒđŸ«¶đŸŒ
