  1. As a 5.4, I just learned about this by playing with legit pros. Been practicing it quite a lot and has found it to be extremely helpful in my game. 1) practice hands in all directions - yes you can do this with half a court too, just stand on the edge of each side 2) keep swings as compact as possible, elbow close to the body 3) use your trunk and legs to move ur arm and paddle, keep arm as relaxed as possible until last second upon impact, tighten up 4) when the ball is slightly above the net, open paddle face and swipe up and forward, it’ll slow down the pace of the ball tremendously leaving you with more time for the next ball. I’m on a mission to get to 5.75, and will share everything that I’m learning along the way, and I hope it helps you get better. #pickleball #pickleballcoaching #pickleballlife #nycpickleball #pickleballaddict #pickleballnyc #pickleballhighlights

When you’re preparing for a tournament, you don’t just practice what you’re already good at-you target the gaps. @iamjamiefoxx and I identified his return as a major area of need, so we broke the process down from the ground up. We focused heavily on the mechanics of the return itself: loading the legs and intentionally pushing through the ball, rather than just slapping at it. From there, it’s about the transition—using that forward momentum to follow the flight of the ball straight to the kitchen line. To make the muscle memory stick, we wrapped up with a match-like sequence to finish the drill. Simulating that real-game pressure is what bridges the gap between practice and tournament day.
