  1. The craziest place I’ve ever stayed👇🏻 If you’ve ever wanted to sleep on the side of a cliff… this one’s for you. Welcome to @OVOPatagonia, just outside of El Chaltén, Argentina. Getting there isn’t exactly casual. You hike up the mountain, get welcomed with drinks + a full charcuterie spread, can shower if you want (last chance before the domes)… and then it’s time to gear up. You’re provided with a harness, helmet and a personal guide to get you to your own private dome! And once you’re in… you’re in. No leaving until morning. But you have everything you need in the three story dome: food & water, a bathroom, cozy sheets and robes, a walkie talkie to communicate & insaaaane views of Fitz Roy in Patagonia! It’s a little scary & surreal but 100000% one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had.   2. everything we did in Patagonia in April👇🏻 Ok so, the biggest lesson we learned in Patagonia is: book as much time as you possibly can there because the weather is insane. It rained for 6 of our 9 days in El Chalten and we were afraid we weren’t going to see anything! Finally got a weather window and omgggg, it was amazing. Plus going in the fall means, less crowds, easier camping permits, colorful trees (the coolest trees) and slightly cheaper accommodations. In total we were there for about 22 days across the Chile and Argentina side from late March into early April! El Chaltén, Argentina: • Laguna de los Tres at sunrise • OVO Patagonia Via Ferrata Hotel (!!) @ovopatagonia • Laguna Cerro Torre (my favorite) • Laguna Capri • Camped at Poincenot Camp • El Chaltén sign • Sunrise 5 miles outside of town on the main road (rent a bike or grab a cab SO worth it) Puerto Natales, Chile • The cutest little town (also your gateway to the park) • Cold plunge in the Last Hope Fjord • Stay at a ranch: Estancia Peninsula • Took the bus from Puerto Natales to El Chalten Torres del Paine National Park, Chile: • Base of the Towers hike • Mirador Condor (best views) • Explora Hotel boardwalk • Ice hike on Grey Glacier • Do the W Trek (stay at Paine Refugio or Grey Sector) • The stretch between Grey & Paine = unreal • Ferry across Lago Grey Ferry across Lago Pehoé lmk if you have any questions! I’ve tested a lot of GPS cat trackers. Symmes Chapel) is a stunning open air mountaintop chapel in the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina. It’s located about 40 miles from Greenville, SC but the drive can take longer than expected due to to the steep winding mountain road you’ll have to drive to get there. The chapel is part of YMCA Camp Greenville and is free to visit (donations accepted) during daylight hours when not reserved for weddings or events. Make sure to check online before visiting to make sure no events are scheduled for the day of your planned visit.   2. How many eagles can fit in one tree? 📍 Hagerman, Idaho The Eagle Tree in Hagerman is so fascinating. Dozens of bald eagles fly in each year to spend their winter here. When viewing them yourself please be quiet! Don’t approach. Bring binoculars or a zoom lens like I did. Shot on my @sonyalpha 7riii, with my 70-200 mm. They are on private property so you can only view from a distance. Find them all around the Hagerman Valley like at the state parks, and even lined up on irrigation pivots along the farm fields. Leave no trace, be respectful! Support a local business nearby. #idaho #baldeagles

  3. Have you ever been to a National Park? If you have, you understand the excitement of pulling up to the kiosk and chatting with the ranger, getting a map, and starting your adventure. Maybe you’re not a National Park person, maybe you enjoy being deep in the woods where no one’s around except that one trail maintenance dude in the distance. These places will be also affected, as I’ve personally heard of layoffs through all sectors in (at least) Idaho. The National Park Service and US Forest Service are facing massive layoffs. Thousands of people have lost their jobs, meaning there will be massive consequences for our public lands. (And for you and I as outdoorsmen.) This can include wildlife not being protected properly, our favorite trails closing due to lack of maintenance, increased fire risk because trees are not being removed and campfires are not being monitored, fewer staff to help those in need. The list goes on and on. This is why it important for us to go above and beyond when visiting to be good stewards of the land. What would Smoky do?? He would make sure his campfire is dead out, and would call his local representative to voice these concerns. Find other accounts where you can write letters from their bios like @outdooralliance too. I find it very important for us to start talking about this to hopefully make changes before it’s too late. This little town has been dubbed as Little Norway for its resemblance to a Norwegian fishing village and its heritage! 📍Poulsbo, Washington Here’s everything you need to know about visiting this cute little town and slice of Europe 👇👇👇 🚘 Takes just over an hour from Seattle ⛴️ you’ll take the Seattle-Bainbridge Island ferry (Bainbridge is also a great day trip or stop if you want to see a little of both towns in one day!) which is about 30 minutes, and then from there, it’s about a 30-35 minute drive to Poulsbo 🥐 start your day by visiting Sluy’s Bakery for their famous cinnamon roll and other baked goods ☕️ Cocina Coffee is a good local coffee shop 🥾there is a short 1 mile nature trail nearby you could spend some time at, and there’s also a few museums and even an aquarium 🐠 🦙 there’s also a nearby alpaca farm that’s locally owned and run- we haven’t been, but I’ve heard great things! 🥘 for lunch or dinner, check out the Baratta+ Paealla bar for some delicious tapas and paealla! This hike was life changing 🥹🥲🏔️ 📌save for future planning Be sure to follow @theadventuringandrews for all the best Washington adventures ☺️ 🥾6.5 mile loop, rated hard 🏔️located in North Cascades 🎟️a Northwest Forest pass is required to park here- you’ll start at the Rainy Lake trailhead. Parking does fill up, and the trail is pretty exposed and gets hot, so it’s best to start early! 📆best between mid-July-October (though it does get crazy crowded for fall. We’ve never done it in fall and probably never will because of the crowds. We did it in mid July last year on a weekday, and it was perfect!) 🚗about 3 hours from Seattle 🐶 dogs allowed on leash, but this is a challenging hike so keep that in mind 📍Maple Pass Loop Trail, Cascades, Washington Have you heard of this famous trail before? 🏔️🥾 share with someone you’d love to hike here with!

We still have so many more places we need to explore, and this list could definitely be longer, but here are some of our favorite places to eat, hikes, and towns!! We love our beautiful state and know you will too! Washington is so much more than Seattle (though we really do love Seattle!!) ⚠️be sure to always practice the principles of leave no trace and always leave places better than you found them! 🎟️ you will need a national park pass or pay a fee for the national parks here. Mt. Rainier also has timed entry permits, so be sure to plan accordingly 📆 best time to visit? ❄️ Moody vibes, less crowds, snow activities, unpredictable weather- January- March The Olympic peninsula or Snoqualmie Pass are great options this time of year! 🌹 tulips, daffodils, waterfall chasing (you can chase waterfalls anytime here really though!)- late March-April Skagit Valley has daffodils and tulips! 🌼 wildflowers- late April- May in the Columbia River Gorge and near Leavenworth, and July/August in Mt. Rainier 🌲 green rolling hills- Eastern WA in May and early June 🐋 whale watching- grey whales: April/May Orcas- July/August Humpback- may-October 🥾 best hiking weather, long, sunny days, most snow is melted off the trails- late July- early September North Cascades, Mt. A 2 hr drive from our house in the Chicago burbs used to get us to Gary, Indiana ….. now a 2 hr drive gets us to magical spots like this 👌🏼 . 6 years in Colorado and our only regret is not moving sooner.   2. I have visited Moraine Lake a dozen times and every one blows me away not only because of the blue water color but the magnificent surrounding peaks. . This past visit, we went with @tenpeaksshuttle and chose their early riser option. We lucked out actually having a private tour with just Kara and myself with @eddine_youu as our driver, he was so knowledgeable and fun! (We’re currently planning to meet up and knock out other bucketlist hikes) . This was the perfect time slot between the sunrise crowds leaving and before the other shuttles and the parks buses full of people got there. The water was perfectly still before the canoes came out and it’s hard to beat that alpenglow and reflection 😮‍💨 . Highly recommend booking with @tenpeaksshuttle .   3. After visiting all 63 US national parks and all 50 states, I still believe the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is the most underrated part of our country. I actually grew up vacationing at Michigan lakeshores and spent my college years living in Michigan. Although, back then I didn’t really appreciate it. All I wanted to do was move west and live in the mountains. Now that I’m out west with mountains, I often miss summer and fall days in Michigan. My husband says I’ll never be fully content where I live, that I’ve been too many beautiful places and left so many pieces of my heart everywhere. And part of that is definitely true. But Michigan is different, my best memories and favorite people are there and I can’t wait to be back there. I know I will call it home again one day. If you havent visited Michigan, I highly recommend adding it to your list. Feel free to message me with questions or for recs

  1. On one of my very first hikes, I brought some baby carrots to snack on at the halfway point. I was seated beside a lake, and one of the baby carrots fell into the shallow water. I figured, it’s biodegradable, it’s not like I’m LITTERING, right? A ranger came up to me, literally out of nowhere and kindly asked if I was planning to pick it up. I did, pretending like I was going to the entire time…. but I would have left it. I had no idea what Leave No Trace really meant, and frankly I was kind of annoyed that I was being told what to do. But here’s the thing. One little carrot like that may seem rather insignificant, but it can absolutely affect the ecosystem. It can alter soil and water, attract wildlife, and change animal behavior. One piece feels small, but repeated by thousands of people, it becomes a real problem. So love your mother, and LNT! #earth #nature #leavenotrace
