At the beginning of the Summer Garrett challenged Cali to learn to read and promised him a mega prize if he learned before our return home to Hawaii where Cali will begin Kindergarten. Garrett committed to working with him every day to do letter flashcards to practice sounds and then start sounding out 3 letter words! 🥰 You may be shocked if you watch our next Sunday video and see what the mega prize is. 😳 I was surely shocked and told Garrett “No way! That prize is too major!” He agreed but said “I honestly didn’t think he would learn so quickly so I made the deal and now I need to follow through on my promise!” WELL PLAYED CALI.   1. The craziest place I’ve ever stayed👇🏻 If you’ve ever wanted to sleep on the side of a cliff… this one’s for you. Welcome to @OVOPatagonia, just outside of El Chaltén, Argentina. Getting there isn’t exactly casual. You hike up the mountain, get welcomed with drinks + a full charcuterie spread, can shower if you want (last chance before the domes)… and then it’s time to gear up. You’re provided with a harness, helmet and a personal guide to get you to your own private dome! And once you’re in… you’re in. No leaving until morning. But you have everything you need in the three story dome: food & water, a bathroom, cozy sheets and robes, a walkie talkie to communicate & insaaaane views of Fitz Roy in Patagonia! It’s a little scary & surreal but 100000% one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had.   2. everything we did in Patagonia in April👇🏻 Ok so, the biggest lesson we learned in Patagonia is: book as much time as you possibly can there because the weather is insane. It rained for 6 of our 9 days in El Chalten and we were afraid we weren’t going to see anything! Finally got a weather window and omgggg, it was amazing. Plus going in the fall means, less crowds, easier camping permits, colorful trees (the coolest trees) and slightly cheaper accommodations. In total we were there for about 22 days across the Chile and Argentina side from late March into early April! El Chaltén, Argentina: • Laguna de los Tres at sunrise • OVO Patagonia Via Ferrata Hotel (!!) @ovopatagonia • Laguna Cerro Torre (my favorite) • Laguna Capri • Camped at Poincenot Camp • El Chaltén sign • Sunrise 5 miles outside of town on the main road (rent a bike or grab a cab SO worth it) Puerto Natales, Chile • The cutest little town (also your gateway to the park) • Cold plunge in the Last Hope Fjord • Stay at a ranch: Estancia Peninsula • Took the bus from Puerto Natales to El Chalten Torres del Paine National Park, Chile: • Base of the Towers hike • Mirador Condor (best views) • Explora Hotel boardwalk • Ice hike on Grey Glacier • Do the W Trek (stay at Paine Refugio or Grey Sector) • The stretch between Grey & Paine = unreal • Ferry across Lago Grey Ferry across Lago Pehoé lmk if you have any questions! Let’s Talk Cat GPS Trackers👇🏻 After four years of living in a van with my adventure cat, Atlas, here is why I am comfortable letting him roam outside without thinking he will run away or get lost. I’ve tested a lot of GPS cat trackers. Here’s why @tractive is my favorite (AD): • Simple, easy-to-use app • Live GPS tracking anytime I have service • Virtual fences with instant notifications if Atlas leaves the area • Tracks his activity and exercise • Play a sound to find him if he’s hiding • Small, lightweight device that doesn’t bother him • When I’m out of service, it switches to Bluetooth so I can still locate him nearby • Tractive makes it easy to give Atlas freedom while I still have peace of mind. Note… am I still a helicopter mom… you bet. But this helps ease my mind soooooo much especially since we are always in a new location. Symmes Chapel) is a stunning open air mountaintop chapel in the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina. It’s located about 40 miles from Greenville, SC but the drive can take longer than expected due to to the steep winding mountain road you’ll have to drive to get there. The chapel is part of YMCA Camp Greenville and is free to visit (donations accepted) during daylight hours when not reserved for weddings or events. Make sure to check online before visiting to make sure no events are scheduled for the day of your planned visit. The chapel itself has views that will take you breathe away and id definitely recommend going for sunset if you can! Be sure to visit Staubbach Falls and Trümmelbach Falls, and take in the views from the nearby cable car to Schilthorn. 🚞 Jungfraujoch Called the “Top of Europe,” this is one of the most iconic day trips in Switzerland. Hop on the train from Interlaken and prepare for stunning glacier views. Don’t miss the Ice Palace at the summit! 🏔️ Grindelwald First This adventure hotspot is a must! Walk the First Cliff Walk, hike to Bachalpsee (4.3 miles, 800 ft elevation gain), and if you’re feeling daring, take the zipline down! 🍃Mürren The most picturesque alpine village. Stroll through its charming streets, take a cable car up to Allmendhubel for panoramic views, and try the Flower Trail hike for a relaxing experience. 🏞️ Interlaken The gateway to Berner Oberland.   3. It was the middle of the night at home in Hawaii when we got the phone call.. Our dear friend @hayley.erbert had been rushed in an ambulance after collapsing during her performance. She was at the hospital going into an emergency surgery. There was bleeding in her brain and she needed a craniectomy! We didn’t know if Hayley would make it. We didn’t know if she would be the same afterwards as the doctors warned of the likelihood of being able to talk, walk, and be herself after a procedure like this. HAYLEY IS STRONG. HAYLEY IS BRAVE. AND HAYLEY IS STUBBORN ;) She would never go down without a fight! Dear Hayley, you are a miracle. We are so grateful to have you and @derekhough in our lives. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. This is the longest Highway 1 closure in history after the Regent’s Slide closed the highway in January 2023 after a massive storm. The reopening is going to be amazing to finally get to fully enjoy Big Sur and the small businesses along the 1 that have been suffering through this closure. Massive tanks, incredible conservation efforts and a world class facility make this wonderful aquarium a must see! 😎 The aquarium is very good for teaching children about sea life and incorporating the ocean into a viable conservation effort that almost no other facility on earth has achieved before. 🌎 This is great to add to a Big Sur trip or if you just plan on going just for the aquarium. It’s my favorite aquarium in the world and I always love when I get the chance to visit! 💙

Send this to a friend who’s coming with you! 😎 In San Francisco at Golden Gate Park is one of the coolest museums I have ever been to: Indoor Rainforest, planetarium, aquarium, earthquake simulator, butterflies and a living roof are some of the highlights of this beautiful place. 🌲 Go during a weekday while kids are in school to avoid big crowds and make sure you get the annual pass to save on admission as you go throughout the year. You won’t regret checking out this museum and you’ll want to go back many times in the future! 💙
