  3. wish i knew earlier… 👇🏻 Ever been handed the wine list and suddenly you’re the “wine person” at the table? Here’s exactly what you can say to look like you know what you’re doing - even if you don’t. 1. Start with the style. Give the sommelier a clear direction: “I’m in the mood for something crisp and bright,” or “I’m after something a bit fuller with more texture.” 2. Offer one reference point. If you usually love Burgundy Chardonnay and it’s not on the list, try: “I typically like a Chardonnay with white-peach notes, good tension, and subtle oak. What would you recommend that’s in a similar style?” 3. Set a price guide naturally. When I’m out with the girls, I’ll say: “I’m looking for something approachable around the $X range - what would you suggest?” 4. Explore the under-the-radar regions. Sicily, Portugal, Austria, and the Languedoc often offer incredible quality at friendlier prices - these sections are usually where the gems are hidden. 5. Read the description before you commit. Check the region, grape, and producer, then ask one quick clarifying question: “Is this more on the zesty/bright side or the rounder/richer side?” That ten-second check saves you from picking something completely different from what you had in mind. Save this and you’ll look calm, intentional, and completely in control when that wine list lands in your hands. . . . . . #wineconfidence #wineeducation #winetips #sommlife #winelistguide #winecontent #burgundy #diningguide

  2. 🎬 Book Feature 🎬 Everything’s Clming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh Publisher: Thomas Nelson Pub Date: June 10, 2025 Thank you so much @tlcbooktours for the #gifted copy and for including me on the tour! I’m so excited to read this one soon! 🩷 About: Rosie Waterman has one dream: to become a working actor. But lately, that hasn’t been working out. When she loses her apartment and her job on the same day, she does what she always does–puts herself out there, ready to find the next big thing. But a trip home makes her realize that while she’s been struggling to make this dream come true, all her friends have become real adults with careers and weddings and babies on the way. Rosie’s been at this for years, and she has nothing to show for it. But how does she simply let go of her dream? When she’s offered a job as the director of a regional theatre’s production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance–even though she’s only directed in college and the job is in Door County, Wisconsin, and not in New York. She has no other offers, and at least she’ll be getting paid to do something theatrical. But when she arrives, she quickly realizes that the “regional theatre” is actually in a retirement community, and the “actors” are actually senior citizens with no acting experience whatsoever. Working on the show presents new challenges, forcing Rosie to learn how to step up and be the leader this fledgling theatre troupe needs. The more time she spends with her new cast, the more she begins to rethink what it means to dream big, especially when that big dream hasn’t turned out to be at all what she thought it would be. It’s not at all what she expected, but could it be exactly what she needs? Predictive Text: Everything’s coming up …. QOTD: Do you enjoy live theatre/musical productions? #EverythingsComingUpRosie #CourtneyWalsh #ChristianFiction #WomensFiction

  3. ⚒️ Book Review ⚒️ Thank you so much @getredprbooks for the #gifted copy and for including me on the tour! Found family has become a favorite trope for me and this book reminded me of why I love it so much. The deep bonds the friends share really touched my heart. I always enjoy New York settings and the historic brownstone at the heart of this story was fabulous. Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone but it’s worth the time to read and enjoy all three! About: Harper Ross has always dreamed of working on one of the magnificent brownstones of Park Avenue. Now one of her closest friends has bought the house of her dreams and hired Harper to do the construction work. She wants to showcase the renovation on a television show for her brand-new production company. It’s the same grand home she and her friends promised themselves they would be able to afford one day. Working on it isn’t the same as living in it, but it’s all a part of Harper’s grand plan to grow her father’s construction business into one of the biggest in the city. The only obstacle—the designer on the project. Reid Dorsey believes in the balance between beauty and functionality. As one of Manhattan’s new voices in design, he’s excited to get to work on a true Gilded Age property. If only the owner had selected a contractor he enjoyed working with. Oh, Harper was brilliant and her work was excellent, but she has an opinion on everything—and it’s usually the opposite of his. Over the course of the job, these enemies start to see different sides of each other, and suddenly their fights don’t seem so bad. But when the project is threatened, they might have to choose between their jobs and the beautifully designed future they could share. QOTD: Do you watch home improvement/renovation shows or videos? Are you good at DIY projects? #BuilttoLast #LexiBlake #getredpr #TheParkAvenuePromiseSeries

So let’s bring some sweetness to them with birthday well wishes! 💗 🖤 April is one of the best birthday months and I’m so happy to be celebrating these friends today!! I went dark and twisty thrillers but also I haven’t read any of these, so I’m just guessing 🤣 I know Slaughter is the queen of dark and disturbing, and I can’t wait to read Hayder! 🖤 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴𝘵𝘢 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴: @findapassion1114 @bethanyburiedinbooks @thrillerschillersandkillers @bellville_lfl @fashionably.bookish @abookwormwithwine @redheadbookaholic @Booked.With.Julia @sherrireads @gymgirlreads If you’d like to continue sharing in book fun with us, follow #picklemeanewread #𝘘𝘖𝘛𝘋 - Have you read Karin Slaughter or Mo Hayder? 2. 🏡 Thank you @grandcentralpub {#partner} Happy Tuesday!! I refuse to say anything happy about Monday on here 🤣 I have a pedicure after work that I’m really looking forward to since it’s been months and it is desperately needed! ❓Would you rather find out a long-standing conspiracy theory was true or find out a juicy piece of gossip only you knew? ᖇᗴᐯIᗴᗯ. I was drawn in by the cover of The House Hunt and this ended up being my first read by C.M. Ewan! I don’t know why I haven’t seen his books before, and I definitely want to read him again. I loved that this is told in two viewpoints, and the tension builds as we jump back and forth between Lucy and her boyfriend Sam. Lucy is freaked out at almost everything and you can feel the paranoia coming off her in waves. Sam’s POV was interesting as well thanks to the group he is leading where everyone has a phobia. Ewan did a great job at keeping the reader guessing, and the emotions were so vivid that I almost started looking behind my own self. The audiobook was expertly voiced by Tamaryn Payne & Christopher Bonwell, and I loved them as the voices of Lucy and Sam. They portrayed their characters flawlessly and I especially loved Payne’s portrayal of Lucy. It made me a little jumpy, not gonna lie, and the audio is clearly the way to go here. The only thing I didn’t really understand is where the title The House Hunt came from, as it is someone trying to sell a house and not buy one. Never got that ah ha moment from the title, but that is a small thing. The storyline does get a little out there at the end and you do have to suspend disbelief, but the twists were twisty, and I loved the suspensefulness! Read this if you are looking for a bingeable read with quick chapters, tension galore, and an over the top ending. 𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝙰𝚞𝚍𝚒𝚘𝚋𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  3. 🔥🚒 Thank you @mbc_books @maureenjohnsonbooks @harperteen {#partner} It’s hump day!! And a beautiful day in Colorado. Hoping to get out for a walk after work since I didn’t make it out yesterday 🙈 ❓What do you like to do when you have nothing to do? (BESIDES reading 😉) ᖇᗴᐯIᗴᗯ. Death at Morning House by Maureen Johnson was such a fun read and proved to me that I need to stop putting off this author’s other books. I loved the dual timelines between Marlowe and the Ralston family in 1932 which eventually come together so the reader knows exactly what happened at Morning House. There was so much to uncover, and I loved all of the little clues and twists along the way. Marlowe made me LOL quite a bit, while the Ralston POV was more serious and ominous. Who knew candles could be so dangerous?! I listened to and loved the audiobook and thought Katherine Littrell did a wonderful job as the narrator. I am a pretty large fan of hers in general, and she did an excellent job with every aspect of her narration here. Death at Morning House is a queer romance and murder mystery all wrapped up in one fast-paced story and thriller readers who love YA are sure to enjoy it. I especially enjoyed the end and the introduction with the articles! Plus, Marlowe’s POV gives new meaning to the phrase if you can’t be good, be careful. 😉 𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝙰𝚞𝚍𝚒𝚘𝚋𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
