  1. 🍣 SUSHI ON A BOAT @sushibrazilia made in a FOOD TRUCK!? Am I tripping? As soon as I saw @jasyan_ video of eating sushi in a sushi boat at the BEACH, I knew I had to try it. You’ve probably brought sushi takeout and eaten at the beach but not with a boat!? Chef Leo, who’s come from a culinary background and worked at Mr Miyagi for many years prior, has opened up this beachside kerbside food truck for 2.5 years and business is busy as always bc locals and people around Melbourne are ordering it for catering events or just to walk over and eat by the beach. Brazilian Japanese modern style sushi is a first for me, but supposedly is quite popular in Brazil 🇧🇷. They incorporate more cream cheese but Leo has his own flare with the crunchy bits of texture and umami. Looks like any other modern/fusion sushi joint but I’ve never had crispy salmon skin underneath a beautifully raw salmon. Definitely saucier than traditional sushi as well as fusion sushi spots, but they haven’t lost the fatty umami taste of the salmon or fish. Highlight was definitely the crispy salmon skin sushi roll which was a perfect harmony of sweet, salty, crunchy and soft. If we’re talking about texture, the panko fried sushi rolls with cream cheese was the ultimate fusion bomb and the best one I’ve had in Melbourne. Boat can be available with Combo A ($139) or B ($169) which is reasonably priced. I love my traditional sushi platters in Hawthorn and Camberwell, but this one sent me off to shore and on a boat to Brazil & Japan. 100% worth the drive, especially if you’re wanting the ultimate sushi date experience ✨ I’ll become the local they hate, because I’m ungatekeeping this hidden gem @sushibrazilia invite #melbournefood #melbournesushi #melbournejapanesefood #braziliansushi #friedsushi

  2. 🇻🇳 VIETNAMESE CHARRD? 🍔 @searbytungthit NO ONE HAS DONE THIS AT A BANH MI SHOP @facemeat_tungthit is revolutionising banh mi, the goated SANDWICH in the world with their ALL DAY & NIGHT charcoal operation. @searbytungthit is searing all their premium quality meats and wagyu to execute I dare say restaurant dining flavours at this corner shop in Springvale. Your favourite meaty street foods in Melbourne is all at this one stop shop including wagyu truffle burger, steak frites, charcoal chicken and ofc banh mi 🥖 🍔 wagyu truffle burger, truffle mayo, caramelised onion, Vietnamese pickled cucumber, chilli jam 4/5 (if changed to potato Martins bun 4.5/5) 🥖 steak & eggs banh mi 3.8/5 🐖 crispy pork belly banh mi (banh mi heo quay) 4.2/5 🥩 steak frites with truffle butter & XO sate sauce 4.75/5 🥯 garlic cream cheese brioche bun 4/5 (together with XO sauce 4.5/5 ☕️ viet iced coffee 1L 5/5 I can’t believe you can even get this at a banh mi shop. With @tungthit_sizzlingsteak already bringing out A-game and showstopping performance from their beef Wellington & short rib banh mi, you already know @searbytungthit has nothing to hide and does not need to prove anything more. Highlights were the steak frites and the truffle burger which almost resembled my favourite burger but with a Vietnamese kick 🌶️🧅. Honestly would go back for all except the Steak & Eggs only bc I prefer it in a proper rice dish. As a proud Vietnamese who prefers authentic traditional style dishes, Anthony executes that breaking through tradition and elevating Vietnamese cuisine is possible. Insane quality and texture of the pork, steak (I heard their charcoal chicken is good) - another step up and you might feel like you’re walking into a fine dining establishment but in a cafe 🍽️ invite #melbournefood #melbournebanhmi #vietnamesesteakfrites #melbourneburgers #vietnamesefood

  3. 🥩 BEST BOTTOMLESS DEAL? @98lygonst Wednesday nights just got even better 98 Lygon Street Bar & Bistro is literally in its name. Not hiding anything, and bringing serious game with their steak and wine. On Wednesdays they are clearing the kitchen and is simply chopping and grilling DRY-AGED SIRLOIN STEAK for their $69pp BOTTOMLESS STEAK night 🥩 The perfect date night spot on a Wednesday. The girls eat up the fries, and the guys eat up the steak. Or if you’re like me, you eat both LOL 🤰 The steak was perfection. After we cleared one plate, the second plate came out and tasted even better. It is the quality of steak they use, and I dare say might be better than most wine bars that offer steak on the menu. It has a slight marbling, but still got a generous thickness of meat that is super easy to chew. The marinade enhances that meat and together with the chimichurri and the 8 Treasure 🎁 Butter, you really melt into your seat. You can add some extra sides that cuts through the richness of the steak. We got their romano beans which had a beautiful mixture of harissa, labneh and mint but I’m not a huge lover of beans. They also have 🍅 tomatoes with goat curd, charred leeks, or even the classic wine bar veggie fave butter lettuce 🥬 Great wine to pair with the steak, and you’ll be looked after by the team here. 100% coming back and would prefer this over a mid $30 steak night. invite #melbournefood #melbournesteak #wednesdaysteaknight #bottomlesssteakfries #melbournewinebar

  3. All fishing trips are memorable........ Some more than others......... I've just returned home from a four day canoe drift that's etched deep due to not only the fish caught and released but also the true beauty of the river system encountered. - The logistics involved in just getting to the launch location were a mission in itself. The first fourty kilometres of river were, let's just say pretty bloody hard!! Over hanging bottle brush for hundreds of metres the norm with many a rapid better negotiated with a long dry portage through the scrub rather than being swept under the over hangs. These were soon forgotten though as some of the bass encountered were the most obese ( I mean that in a good way) wild bass I've seen!!! - These fish I'm sure have not seen the brackish in the winter for some time and I'd also bet they hadn't seen a lure either. I seen no signs of human interaction for the first two days with the only company other than the fish were a few brumbies, water dragons, osprey and snakes. - The biggest bass of the drift went 52cm. I'd of loved to have had a set of scales for a weight as she was an epic specimen!!!!! - An unforgettable solo adventure and a massive thanks to Max Graham for helping make it all happen from the five hours of driving/4wding, helping with logistics to organising a safe place for my vehicle. Your knowledge of the area is second to none and I look forward to returning the favour👍 - #wildfisher #wildriver #australianbass #bass #soloadventure #gotnomates #wildbass #canoedrift #canoemission #lxdsunnies #edgerods #adventure #brumbies #wildaustralia #ozfishunlimited #saxscent #solomission #midnorthcoast @edgerods_official
