  3. MBỌGHỌ or MBUGHU 🤎 Igbo nwere nri. This meal had my parents licking their fingers and begging me to make it again 😂 Mind you, this was my first attempt and I absolutely nailed it. It was so delicious and satisfying. One thing about Igbo dishes is that many of them are slowly fading away. Some of these meals were passed down from our grandparents and parents, but today, many young people have never even tasted them or heard their names before. That is one of the major reasons I create the kind of content I do. I genuinely love documenting our local Igbo dishes, not just because they are delicious, but because every meal carries a story, a tradition, and a part of our identity as Igbo people. When you look closely, you’ll realize our food culture is rich beyond imagination. From the ingredients we use, to the methods of preparation, to the stories behind each dish… everything is deeply rooted in family, community, and tradition. To make this meal, all you need is: • Ji Abana White • Ji Abana Red • Ji Abii • Red Pepper • MAGGI Seasoning • Salt • Palm Oil • Onions • Kpomo • Ugba/Ukpaka • Ogiri Igbo • Green Vegetables Meanwhile, your favourite native spices are still available 👇🏾 1. Ofe Akwu Natural Local Spice Perfect for making Ofe Akwu (Banga stew). It gives that rich local, authentic taste and aroma. ₦15,000 2. Nsala Natural Local Spice Specially made for delicious Nsala soup. ₦15,000 3. Pepper Soup Local Spice Perfect for all kinds of pepper soup — chicken, beef, assorted meat, turkey, goat meat, etc. It can also be used to prepare Ji Mmiri-Oku for women after childbirth. ₦15,000 4. 3-in-1 Multipurpose Native Spice Perfect for Abacha, Nkwobi, Native Rice or Pasta, Vegetable Yam, Yam Porridge, and Ede Agworoagwo (Ede Bazaar). ₦15,000 5. Ita Ngu A healthier alternative to potash (Akanwu) for making Ncha for Abacha and Nkwobi. It also helps Ukwa, Fio Fio, and beans cook faster and softer. ₦10,000 #ADayInMyLife #Mbogho #SpendTheDayWithMe #LocalFood #IgboAmaka

  2. 1️⃣ I used to hate being dark-skinned. Not dislike. Hate. I was bullied for being “too black,” and I believed them. I bleached my skin because I thought lighter meant prettier. It took me years to unlearn that lie and undo the damage. Now? I protect my melanin like it’s gold. 2️⃣ I treated my body like an experiment. One month I wanted to be thicker. Next month I wanted to be slimmer. Weight gain supplements. Weight loss supplements. Back and forth like my body was a trend. I landed in the hospital before I landed in self respect. That was my wake up call. My body isn’t a toy. 3️⃣ I still hurt over friendships that ended. And I don’t care how mature that sounds. Outgrowing people hurts. Loving people who can’t love you correctly hurts. Watching people switch on you hurts. Healing doesn’t cancel grief. 4️⃣ I didn’t know I had ADHD until I was 27. For years I thought I was Slow. Distracted. I struggled with reading. With focus. With finishing things. I kept asking myself, “Why is this so hard for me when it seems easy for everyone else? Turns out, my brain just works differently. Imagine finding that out in your late 20s. The relief. The anger. The “what if I had known earlier?” 5️⃣ It took me 5+ years to learn how to love myself properly. Not the cute affirmations. The real one. Boundaries. Therapy. Accountability. Discipline. Choosing myself even when it feels lonely. Admitting when I was the problem too. Sharing this wasn’t easy. I still have days I cry wishing I could redo parts of my life. But I can’t. So I’m learning to make peace with who I was while building who I’m becoming🫶🏽💕
