  2. Rigatoni, silky green sauce, anchovy crumbs 🍝💚 easy and healthy + the creamy sauce with the crunchy salty anchovy breadcrumbs just work👇 Ingredients (serves 2) - 200 g rigatoni - 100 g cavolo nero, stalks removed (≈ 6–8 large leaves) - 2 cloves garlic - 50 g Parmesan - 1 small hand fresh basil (15 g) - Zest of ½ a lemon, plus a squeeze of juice - 2 anchovy fillets in oil - 1-2 slice bread, cut into square crumbs - 2 tbsp olive oil - Salt & black pepper 1. Bring a pan of salted water to a boil. Add the cavolo nero and garlic cloves. Cook 2 mins till wilted, then scoop both out into iced water. Drain well and squeeze out excess water. 2. In a blender, throw in the blanched cavolo nero, garlic, Parmesan, basil, lemon zest, a squeeze of lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper. Add a small splash of the pasta water and blend until smooth and silky. Add more water if it needs to loosen. 3. In a frying pan, heat the olive oil, anchovies and a splash of the anchovy oil over medium heat. Let them melt into the oil. Add crumbs and fry till golden and crisp (5–6 mins), stirring often. 4. In the same cavolo nero pot, cook the rigatoni in salted water till just al dente. Save a mug of the pasta water before draining. 5. Add the green sauce in a bowl, combine with the cooked rigatoni and a splash of pasta water. Toss untill fully covered in sauce. 6. Plate up your pasta, add a drizzle of olive oil, sprinkle with the crispy anchovy crumbs, extra Parmesan and enjoy! 📌 There are a lot of new vids on the way, so feel free to follow @gabrielpoltorak if you’d like to see those :)

  2. ✨🇵🇭 NEW: FILIPINO BAKERY IN AMSTERDAM 🇵🇭✨ This spot minutes from Central Station (right across the water!) just opened TODAY, serving authentic Filipino baked goods, desserts, and kakanin, all freshly made with so much love and Filipino pride ❤️ The menu is HUGE, and honestly everything looked incredible it was so hard to pick!! 🤩 What to know: 💜They have ube EVERYTHING!! From ube pandesal, ube cake roll, ube cruffin, ube bliss cookies… it’s truly an ube paradise! 💜 My favorite? The Ube Cake Roll: a soft, pillowy chiffon cake rolled around light ube whipped cream, delicate and just sweet enough, melts in your mouth!! 🤤 🥥 signature Crumble Ube Buko Pie: buttery flaky crust, creamy young coconut & ube, topped with crunchy streusel 🤤 🧀 Assorted Ensaimada: soft buttery brioche in flavors like ube, pistachio, parmesan, cookies & cream, yema & cream cheese 🌈 Sapin-Sapin: colorful layered glutinous rice cake with ube & toasted coconut curds, loved it!! SO soft and chewy (also gluten free!) 🍧 Frozen Creamy Halo-Halo: the classic Filipino shaved-ice dessert, topped with ube ice cream & leche flan & classics like Spanish bread, pan de coco, lemon kouign-amann, and even savory treats like their adobo croissant pockets & a sunrise egg croissant 👏 And here’s the best part: even though everything looks super sweet, it’s all surprisingly NOT too sweet, perfectly balanced 🙌 Tip: they sell out fast (as it literally JUST opened 🤣🎉), but pre-order online for pickup so you’re not disappointed (tho they do constantly restock!) 😉 & the team is the cutest, I met the sweetest mother-daughter duo behind it & the amount of hugs, happy faces, & smiles all around the store today were so wholesome 🥹 📍 Manila Bakery, Prins Hendrikkade 59, 1012 AD Amsterdam To note: it is a small store with limited seating, but on a beautiful day like today there are so many benches next to it facing the water or even sit on the steps for the most beautiful view with the most beautiful treats!! the perfect amsterdam memory, what a city to live i’m so grateful!! 🥹 Which treat are you trying first?? 👇🇵🇭 #

  3. 🥐✨ THE BEST CINNAMON BUN IN AMSTERDAM ✨🥐 After spending two years and ranking 41+ buns**, I can confidently say these are the hands-down best American-style rolls is still Canela 🏆😍 What keeps Canela at the top: their buns are soft, gooey, fluffy, generously spiced, and perfectly balanced in sweetness, the kind you’re still thinking about days (okay, weeks and months) later 😮‍💨 And they never sit still with flavors either: pandan coconut, chai, banana bread, pumpkin pie, dulce de leche, plus endless weekly specials alongside the classic 💛 You can taste the love in every batch. But what makes Canela really special goes beyond the buns 🥹 It’s getting to watch a small local business grow, experiment, and build a genuine community around something they care so deeply about. And the best news? After just their first year, they’re opening a SECOND store THIS SEPTEMBER 😍 Such a huge milestone, and I couldn’t be more excited to watch them keep growing… honestly the most wholesome story 🫶 Consider this your little reminder to support your local bakeries, they’re what make a city feel like home 🤍 📍 Canela, Molsteeg 11, 1012 SM Amsterdam (& store 2 coming soon in De Pijp!! Save to check back as I’ll pin the second location when it opens in the comments!! 📌) **full ranking’s in my bio if you’re on your own cinnamon hunt with a ranked excel sheet & Google Maps locations, designated by style (American, Scandinavian, croissant), spice level, sweetness, & more! 😉 #amsterdambakery #amsterdamfood #cinnamonbunamsterdam #amsterdameats #supportlocalamsterdam amsterdamfoodie amsterdamtips amsterdamcentrum cinnamonroll amsterdamhotspots

  1. Homemade kimchi dumplings! I had so much making the dumpling dough and using my own made up filling. After folding the dumplings I baked them and steamed them so they were both crunchy and fluffy at the same time. Below is the recipe for these tasty dumplings. If you decide to make these dumplings, please tag me because I am pretty excited to see what you made. Ingredients for 12 dumplings 🥟🥟 Dumpling dough - 100 grams of flour + extra for dusting - 50 grams of water Kimchi filling: - 70 grams of kimchi (finely chopped) - 50 grams of minced meat - 1 teaspoon of mirin - 1 teaspoon of sesame oil - 1 teaspoon of rice vinegar - 2 teaspoons of soy sauce - 1 teaspoon of cornstarch - Half an egg Instructions: 1. Mix the flour and dough in a bowl and knead it until you have a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for an hour. 2. Mix all the ingredients for the filling in a bowl. 3. Shape the dough into a cylinder and cut into 12 pieces. Dust with flour. 4. Grab one dough piece and push it down with your hand to form a disc. Use the rolling pin to flatten more (2mm thick) 5. Spoon two teaspoons of filling in the middle of the dough disc and fold the dumpling the way want. I used the pinch braid technique. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the rest of the dough 7. Heat oil in a baking pan and carefully place the dumplings bottom down in the hot oil. Lower the heat to medium/hot and bake the dumplings (please don’t move them around!) until they are golden brown. 8. Pour 100 ml of water in between de dumplings and cover with a lid. 9. Steam for 15-20 minutes until the dumplings are cooked. 10. Drizzle your kimchi dumplings with chili oil, chopped scallions, fresh coriander, Eagle sauce, soy sauce, hot sauce or whatever sauce or herb you prefer. If you like to see more pictures to guide you through the steps, check out the link in my bio for the full recipe (It’s in Dutch, but you can use the translate button) or check out my stories. #dumplings#dumplingsrecipe#recipe#asiancooking#asianfood#recipe#homemade#howtomakedumplings#kimchi#kimchidumplings#spicy#homecooking#foodie#seriousfoodie#bysam.nl#diyfood#chinesefoodmeetskoreanfood#koreanfood#chinesefood#dotrythisathome
