Repost from @admiddleeast • Finding a haven in the heart of Istanbul, in a neighbourhood bustling with restaurants, cafes, bazaars and historic buildings, was nothing short of a real-estate miracle for Turkish actress Serenay Sarıkaya (@serenayss). “When I saw the house for the first time, it was totally different.” she recalls. “I could also see how perfect it could be.” Sarıkaya enlisted Enis Karavil (@eniskaravil), one half of the Istanbul-based design studio Sanayi313 (@sanayi313), to realise her vision. “Serenay was specific about what she was looking for – maximalist and dramatic elements against a serene backdrop – and it completely aligned with our idea for the project,” says Karavil. “Her preference for open and flowing living spaces influenced the overall design.” By removing walls and false ceilings, he unified the space, revealing exceptionally tall rooms and structural columns that created a loft-like volume, which now opens out onto a light-filled sunken courtyard. Bu sahnede robot, intihardan hemen sonra, başı vücuda koymak için testler yapıyor ve adamın göreve devam etmek için hazır olup olmadığını kontrol ediyordu. Dediğim gibi çıkarmak zorundaydım çünkü bunu böylece koyabilmek için, bir çok şeyi açıklamam gerekecekti ve vaktim yoktu. Bilmiyorum belki de açıklamama gerek olmadan da öylece koyabilirdim :/ o zaman o kadar cesur değildim. Eng I had to take this scene out of Avarya. I think those who watch the movie might feel what is it for but still, to talk about its function, I had the intention to witness the Robot's process of building the man and reveal a little bit more about how he was doing on the ship. In this scene, the robot was doing tests to put the head on the body right after the suicide and checking whether the man was ready to continue the mission. As I said, I had to take it off because in order to put it in this way, I would have to explain a lot of things and I didn't had time. I don't know, maybe I could just put it like that without needing to explain : / maybe I wasn't that brave.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT I’m officially launching Istanbul’s ultimate food guide in English: @diginistanbul For years, whenever friends asked me for recommendations on where to eat in my city I would have to write a long text message with bullet points, explanations in parentheses and copy-pasted links. Later I prepared a Google Maps with pins, but the questions didn’t stop. You’d still have to explain the little important things about Turkish food culture and about specific restaurants. Tell people which seat is best, how to ask for the off menu dessert, which waiter to say hi to. Well, I decided to take all my recommendations as a food writer but more importantly as a friend and turn them into a functioning website. This is all my knowledge in one, searchable, filterable, shareable, surfable. It will be an ongoing project, with articles about food culture and new restaurants added as it goes on. "Murys has been active since 2004, primarily in Istanbul and also abroad. In recent years he has been collaborating with artists locally and internationally in creating collaborative and individual works. Murys defines his name as ‘the legator’. Since he started creating, he has been using the streets, trains and different surfaces in dynamic cities in leaving his legacy to the viewer. He views the street as his exhibition space, where he creates his big scale pieces. Murys translates his big pieces into smaller scale canvas’ and, without losing sight of his discipline, carries street art into the exhibition space."
