The question of which lipstick Taylor wears on stage that’s able to withstand three and a half hours of singing in any weather - be that wind, sun, or torrential downpour? Typically, for me, identifying makeup by sight alone is next to impossible. It’s why I’m cautious in this category! Whenever any of Taylor’s beauty items are confirmed (by Taylor herself or her MUA) I have always been more than happy to post. I’ve reported other confirmed red lipsticks over the years, but the particular shade of red that Taylor wears on the Eras Tour has (understandably) been highly sought after. While many suspected it was by Pat McGrath, the artist who did Taylor’s her makeup for the “Bejeweled” music video and 2022 MTV VMA appearance and helpfully provided all the details of what she used, Pat has never confirmed connection to Taylor’s stage lipstick. Which is why it’s always been a mystery … until now! In clips in The End of an Era docuseries, we see Taylor’s makeup artist Lorrie Turk in the process of doing Taylor’s stage beauty. Including a glimpse of her applying her lip shade from a thin, silver bullet which looks to be MAC’s Locked Kiss packaging. The exact shade? You can guess between the shades of red on offer from MAC which include ‘Gutsy’ (a tomato red), ‘Extra Chili’ (an orange red), and ‘Ruby True’ (a classic blue red). Edit: MAC themselves have pointed to ‘Ruby True’. It’s worth noting makeup artists often mix their own colours in order to make a final look. Many grains of salt being thrown here! (Lorrie if ever there were a time to confirm what an end to the Eras era gift that would be!) The other two products here are also my very best guesses based on squinting at packaging. It was a fascinating glimpse into her artistry - I look forward to giving it more listens to parse through everything she discussed. Naturally, the visuals that paired with the interview were most of note for me. Such is the power of fashion! Knowing this interview would be a filmed sit down adds intrigue to the intention of choosing certain pieces. I first noticed how this styling seemed to visually extend her most recent outings. There's an echo to the black top and creamy skirt formula from April 8. While incorporating the vintage opal bracelet by Darlene De Sedle, part of a suite that was originally created for Elizabeth Taylor, first seen on April 27, alongside April 8's necklace stack. These repeat elements makes this feel familiar, even if it's new! The asymmetrical hem of the top, the skirt’s tie detail, and her hair swept over one shoulder worked in tandem to create a long, fluid line that was best appreciated in the wider shot. I wondered if this was a deliberate framing choice on the part of the crew? In the pulled back frame, the outfit feels relaxed and loose - like an exhale. This projects a markedly different image than, say, a tailored trouser set might have. Here, everything feels soft and languid. Between the fabric and drape, I thought the ensemble tied into Taylor’s overall demeanour of feeling grounded and at ease. What a treat it was to hear her speak so candidly, passionately, and confidently about songwriting - all while composed in an outfit that befitted her sense of calm. As a counterbalance, the neutral palette, sharply minimalist strappy heels (I swooned!), and sparkling jewels did the work to bring polish to the look.

Following an evening of the arts (dinner with a cinematographer, a night at a play) plus a birthday celebration, Taylor and Travis continued to go out and about in London. One date night formula Taylor has long-relied on is all black. And for good reason! In my opinion, it always makes for a chic option. Especially when you take the option to play with textures and materials, as Taylor did here. There’s an edgy mix between sultry lace (a mismatched set from two different brands to give the appearance of a dress), and plain plus textured leather through her coat and studded bag. A simple pair of strappy heels (for my minimalist heart) finished everything off. These, if I had to guess, are also the shoes she likely wore while out with Ash Avignone in NYC last month in April. It’s nice to have a clear look at them in all their glory now. The one other area of added polish? A vintage Chanel necklace.
