Capturing a feeling is so much harder than just capturing a moment. I’ve dedicated a lot of time to figuring out how to make someone feel like they were actually there with me, and though it’s still something I’m always working on, I feel that I’ve got a pretty good grasp of it, and I’m so excited to be able to share that with you 🤗 This is a little look into how I build the world you see on my page. Things you don’t really see online, but are a huge part of the creative process... From figuring out what mood I want to create with my photos in Lightroom, to mood boarding which images belong together as a carousel, to bringing a video to life with the right sound and pacing. It’s been so incredibly handy to have all of my most used apps (that I, admittedly, spend far too many hours on each

I’ve been taking photos for a long time, and after enough years something interesting happens. 📷✨ You learn your process so well that you can almost do it without thinking. You know where to stand. You know what settings to use. You even know exactly how the final image will look. It becomes comfortable, but comfort can be a dangerous place for creativity. Because the longer we do the same thing, the easier it becomes to lose the feeling that made us fall in love with it in the first place. The excitement. The curiosity. The sense that you’re about to discover something new. 👀 That’s why I believe it’s so important to keep experimenting. To keep trying techniques that might not work. To make photos that might fail. To create with limitations. To give yourself permission to be a beginner

I’ve been playing around in Adobe Fresco and I’m obsessed with all the brushes… but especially the vector brushes because as a full-time vector girly, this is basically my dream!!😍 Being able to create artwork in Fresco and then export it straight into Illustrator (without losing quality, pixelating, or anything distorting when resizing) is chef’s kiss. AND THEN… Illustrator drops this new feature called Turntable, which lets you take your original 2D illustration and turn it into a rotatable object, so you can capture different angles without redrawing the same thing 500 times. Which obviously meant I had to use it for what it was made for… ✨ pattern making! ✨ If you’re like me and love finding exciting new ways to update your workflow and add more fun, you should try this!
