book review: rumours & whiskey (the whiskey women #1) by @authorvictoriawilder — releases June 16 ‘26 my rating: ★★★★ aesthetic: 🥃🎧🔪🎙️🩸🐊🧽💀🛩️🥼💻 Rumours & Whiskey was an exceptionally engaging introduction to the Whiskey Women series. Victoria Wilder presents a compelling combination of small-town secrets, family loyalty, mystery, suspense, and romance that kept me hooked throughout the novel. One of the most notable aspects of the story was the Crowne family. The dynamic between the sisters felt authentic, strong, and steadfast, providing a powerful emotional foundation for the narrative. The family’s reputation within Rumor, Tennessee adds a fascinating dimension to the story, and uncovering the truths concealed beneath decades of gossip made for a highly engaging reading experi

🖤 This Time Tomorrow 🖤 A collection of ten well polished short stories that explores the price of connection through the eyes of ten women. I loved this collection, there’s so much depth within these stories, which is remarkable as some of the stories were only ten minutes long. Some were pretty eerie and unnerving, some made my heart heavy and some reflect the hardships of being a woman. The author conveyed the fear of these women perfectly and it was done in such a controlled way. This was the perfect collection to listen to on audio, the narrators voice was so fluid and she managed to create a dark atmosphere that had both intrigue and depth. There were a few stories that ended quite abruptly, but instead of them feeling unfinished, the abruptness of the endings made them all the more

🤍Review🤍 You know those books that earn five stars before you even finish them? That was exactly how I felt about Dolly All the Time. This novel has officially claimed the title of my favorite Annabel Monaghan book. In my family, it’s well known that Pretty Woman starring Julia Roberts is my all-time favorite romance movie, and if you like that movie too, there’s a very good chance you’ll love this book. Dolly Brick has returned to her father’s Rhode Island home for the summer to help him recover after a small house fire. Fiercely independent and determined to save their family home, she takes on the challenge of repairing the house herself. Then enters Stewart Whitfield, the wealthy local golden boy fresh off an embarrassing breakup. Their arrangement is simple: he gets his parents off

The Anniversary by Alex Finlay is exactly the kind of thriller I lose entire evenings to. This one was fast paced with short chapters and full of twists! 📚👀💥 The story follows Quinn and Jules, whose lives become connected after one terrible night in the late ‘90s. Quinn is trying to survive a rough home life while taking care of his younger brother. Jules is the popular girl with a completely different future ahead of her. Then one night changes everything. After a concert: ⏳Quinn gets pulled into something that turns his life upside down ⏳Jules becomes connected to a serial killer known as the May 1st Killer ⏳and both of them spend the next decade trying to piece together what really happened The story jumps across timelines as their separate searches slowly start connecting in ways ne

👩🏻🍳BOOK REVIEW👩🏻🍳 🔪Title: Ms. Mebel Goes Back to the Chopping Block ✍️Author: Jesse Q Sutanto 📚Publisher: @berkleypub 🗓️Pub Date: 4/28/2026 🔎Genre: Cozy Women’s Fiction ✨Goodreads Rating: 3.97 🌟My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 At sixty-three years old, Chinese-Indonesian “trophy wife” Mebel (Mabel), has just been left by her husband Henk (Hank) for their private chef. Mebel has always lived a life of pure luxury; with palatial homes, travels around the world, designer clothes, bags, jewelry and more. One thing she has never had to do was cook. But that doesn’t stop her from enrolling in culinary school to win her husband back. I am a big fan of Sutanto’s Vera Wong and Aunties characters, and it took me a while to warm up to Mebel. I think it was because her character is so much more self-a

SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT Nerd Faith by Rachel Kessler (FYI This one is more personal than usual). I first found @thenerdypriest on that clock app in 2020. Not only was I going through what we all were at the time, being confined to my house gave me space to think. My husband and I had recently left our longtime church bc our values no longer fit. We had changed one way and the church was doubling down the other way. The pandemic gave me time to process the web of emotions I was feeling (grief, anger & shame to name a few). Nerdy Priest’s TT page became a safe place for me to start unpacking my old beliefs. Specifically, how can I believe any of it if I’ve been wrong about so much of it? Also, she liked all the same nerdy things I did and related them so well. Back when videos were no longer than a
