from ‚pretty frustrated tbh‘ after stage 1 to ‚slightly stupid but heavily stoked‘ after stage 4. every day felt more comfortable in this fast world of aggressive gravel racing. @sahara_gravel ended on friday; with last year’s edition and its presence on socials, my expectations for this experience were high. I was looking forward to riding hard in the morning and drinking a lot of mint tea in the afternoon. that mint tea was not really present, still every minute spent in the desert 🍰 absolutely worth it. I loved the laid-back atmosphere once the finish line was crossed, I loved the scenery it takes place in and I consider this an amazing example of combining sportive spectacle with conscious tourism – I am usually happy when my human self can be part of my athlete’s self: good efforts f
