When I see beautiful fields like this I often think of the quote above, and of John Clare (1793 - 1864) who spent his life wandering the English countryside, finding a sense of belonging in the landscape that he struggled to find elsewhere. I’ve wanted to decorate our house for such a long time, to make it feel a little more ours even if it technically isn’t. But decorating and furnishing it just hasn’t been a priority for us, especially because in my head it always felt very “all or nothing” 🙃😂 I wanted to document the process, but do it a little differently, and I came up with the idea of giving it this exaggerated and comedic tone with a kind of Bridgerton-inspired narration/storytelling vibe. Gentle Spring day at the cottage… Lately I’ve been mostly shower dodging including after my (oh so needed) hair appointment yesterday- luckily I’d taken my brolly and dashed into Waitrose but not before my hair had gone limp 😮‍💨 I’ve been self sabotaging on here again, I’d randomly deleted a post and then got the fear of how to repost something that people had already commented on - so I took the only way out and had a day off.
