AD| Queen and the Viper 💚 @stephanehumbertlucas From the first spray, it opens citrusy green with a crisp freshness that immediately caught my attention. I get blackcurrant and mint right away slightly sharp, slightly fruity but there’s depth underneath from the very start. It’s not a light, carefree citrus opening. There’s a darker, resinous shadow running beneath it that makes it feel mysterious almost instantly. What makes Queen and the Viper stand out is the contrast. There’s a clear cold–hot effect The mentholated citrus gives a cool, almost chilled sensation, while the base moves in the opposite direction..warmer, spiced, and subtly sweet. I pick up incense and tobacco, but not in a heavy smoky way its softened and sweetened by a rich date note. Interestingly, the overall scent leans slightly licorice-like to my nose. I suspect that comes from the davana, which adds an aromatic sweetness and ties the fresh top to the darker base beautifully. Soft white florals sit quietly in the background, smoothing everything out without ever stealing the spotlight. They’re there to polish the composition rather than define it. As it dries down, the fragrance becomes creamier and denser. The sweetness deepens, the texture turns velvety yet it never feels suffocating. That subtle minty freshness lingers in the structure, keeping it surprisingly balanced despite the darker, resinous backbone. Overall : fresh yet deep, cool yet warm, sweet yet resinous. This Bulgarian rose smells fruity on top but it also has lots of spicy facets from pepper,cumin and cardamom. AD| Review Thomas De Monaco Ultima Storia While it lowkey annoys me how easy many content creators love to abuse terms like unique even when it’s not, i can genuinely claim this Is not a common take on a citrus fragrance so read along if this sounds intriguing to you. Ultima Storia doesn’t open sharp, nor does it try to seduce with predictable sweetness. At the same time it’s not the easiest scent to describe for me so i definitely recommend to sample first instead of perhaps blind buying. To my nose It’s heavy on the lemon but almost with a liqueur-like aromatic warm character, steering away from the sharp freshness of classic citruses fragrances. It wears surprisingly smooth on skin. There is a subtle fruity sweetness alongside the lemon coming from a pear note which creates a bit of a candied effect. After a while the texture transitions from creamy more into a suede powdery feel. It has a darker back bone which seems to be coming mostly from a leather accord and i also perceive a roasted woodiness ( maybe from the listed coffee note ? because I don’t detect an actual coffee smell ) The contrast of the fruity notes and the darker backbone makes this a very allround versatile fragrance. Including its pricetag Ultima Storia feels and smells like luxery but it doesn’t shout. It’s a quiet luxury and im loving it. #thomasdemonaco #nicheperfumery #luxeryfragrance #parfumerie
