  3. Trust me, you’ll want to SAVE this one!!! ✨🤩 When you want to impress your guests… but you only want dinner to take 25 minutes. 😉 Creamy prawn vol-au-vents straight from the oven with a fresh fennel, orange & walnut salad on the side-looks fancy, tastes amazing, and honestly couldn’t be easier. Perfect for entertaining, girls’ nights, or when you just want something a little bit special without spending all night in the kitchen. Creamy Prawn Vol-au-Vents (Makes 8 large) Ingredients • 8 large vol-au-vent pastry cases • 300–350 g cooked prawns, roughly chopped • 1 tbsp olive oil • 20 g butter • 2 cloves garlic, minced • 120 g cream cheese • ½ cup thickened cream • ¼ cup finely grated parmesan • 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped • Salt & pepper • Lemon zest Method 1. Heat oven to 180°C and warm empty vol-au-vents for about 5 minutes to crisp up. 2. Heat olive oil and butter in a pan. Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant. 3. Add prawns and warm through. 4. Stir in cream cheese and cream until smooth. 5. Add parmesan and simmer gently until slightly thickened. 6. Stir through chives and season with salt and pepper. 7. Spoon mixture into pastry cases. 8. Return to oven for 5–7 minutes until hot and lightly golden. 9. Finish with extra chives or parmesan and serve warm. Fennel, Orange & Walnut Salad Ingredients • 1 fennel bulb, thinly sliced • 1 orange, peeled and segmented • Juice of ½ orange • ⅓ cup walnuts, dry roasted or pan-fried • Handful fresh mint, chopped Dressing • 3 tbsp olive oil • Juice of ½ orange • 1 tsp Dijon mustard • Salt & pepper Method 1. Combine fennel, orange, walnuts and mint in a bowl. 2. Whisk dressing ingredients together. 3. Pour over salad just before serving and toss gently. Would you eat this????

  1. $12 Winter food and drink menu in Melbourne! ❄️🍸 @gigi_by_entrecote is a French inspired snack and cocktail bar up a bluestone laneway off Greville Street, Prahran. It is the cheeky little sister to @entrecotemelbourne, right across the street! 🇫🇷 The space sits upstairs: a 60-seat salon, gallery, and open terrace decked out with Persian rugs, crystal chandeliers, velvet banquettes and walls hand painted by artist Melissa Macfarlane. Inspired by the 1958 musical of the same name, it feels like stepping into 1930s Paris and it is genuinely jawdropping! 😍 The winter format is simple: every food item on the menu is $12, strictly snacks. The $12 drink options include wines, cocktails, mocktails and a mulled wine, with a full price drinks menu also available. ⭐️ Creme Caramel - perfectly silky ⭐️ Chocolate Mousse - textural and rich! ✔️ Sturgeon Baerii Caviar Bump ✔️ Classic French Eggs, truffle mayonnaise - the truffle flavour is strong here! ✔️ Dry French Style Saucisson, radish ✔️ Gigi’s Chicken Sandwich - solid, could use a little more herbs throughout ✔️ Petits Pies, cauliflower, leek, gruyere ➖ Warm Cheese Gougeres - light and airy, the cheese flavour is faint ➖ Bruleed Goats Cheese Crouton, soft leaves, radish, french vinaigrette - the cheese itself is fantastic but the bread is very tough to eat ➖ La Petite Soeur Cheeseburger - the patty was a little dry, similar to quarter pounder. The extra $6 for crisps felt steep for the portion size. The desserts were the clear standout for me but honestly the room carries the whole experience. It runs very warm inside and the tables are close together, so keep that in mind. For $12 a dish and a drink in one of Melbourne’s prettiest rooms though, it’s a great spot for a nibble and a glass. 🥂 Walk in’s only - no bookings. Maybe if this goes well, they will extend it 👀 From 5pm Wednesday to Saturday. Invite
