In only the span of a couple of years, AI has become so ubiquitous that it is integrated into every single social media platform, almost completely unregulated and seemingly determined to flood the Internet with so much misinformation that we can no longer tell what is generated and what is genuine. There are plenty of eloquent, statistically-supported arguments against it that smarter people than me have been writing for years, and plenty of boot-licking sycophants who truly believe that, beyond the โ€œpracticalโ€ applications of machine learning, a computer can make art that has a soul. That AI can make you feel, or cry, or connect beyond the surface-level pleasantness of symmetry. Unfortunately, Iโ€™m neither of them.
