  1. I FINALLY got pictures of my Soufflé amongst the cherry blossoms! 🌸 Turns out my Soufflé was done over a month in advance lol, but that's better than being too late for the blossoms! I'm hopeful these photos will look they way they do on my phone, but @instagram is being an absolute BUTT lately with photos looking fine when you select them for your post, but when you go to post it, they're significantly darker 😡 The easiest workaround I've found for this is to screenshot the photo and post the screenshot version, but thin I'm trying upping the brightness by 20 to see if that works because screenshotting seriously diminishes the quality and it's annoying if I want to post multiple photos. Absolutely thrilled with my completed Firth Sweater!!! 💜 I was so happy to be picked for this test knit because ever since Rebecca first showed off this design almost a year ago, I've been lusting after it! I even chose some special yarn to make it - @townhouseyarns Fade St 4 ply and Abbey Lace in the colour Smoke and Mirrors that I picked up from @thisisknit on my honeymoon travels 💜 This was one of those projects where I enjoyed the process just as much as I do the product -- though that ribbing on the hem felt like it took forever 🥵 The fit of this sweater is absolutely immaculate because of the bust shaping (I did the F cup shaping), and I love how it hugs my body in all the right places! Thea deadline for the test knit is Sept. 1st so keep your eyes out for the pattern release happening shortly after that! Now that it's been gifted, I can finally share one of my favourites projects I made this year! 🌈❤️ This is the Good Morning Blanket by @purlsoho made using @hobbii_yarn Friends Cotton 8/8 and it is GLORIOUS! Our friends are expecting their first baby coming soon and I asked them months ago what specific knitted item they would like. They asked for a rainbow baby blanket, but gave me full creative freedom to choose any yarn + pattern combo I wanted. I chose this pattern because the modular style felt very potato chip-y and would motivate me to keep going and add more stripes. I was totally right, this project was SO fun and it went faster than I anticipated. I modified the pattern a little bit to make it smaller (and more manageable for my timeline), but I also used my Cordsmith™️ tool by @sizeinclusivecollective to add a beautiful icord trim, which really elevated the blanket (and bonus: will keep the garter stitch from stretching out over time).   1. Hi 💚 I’m sewing a dress for the first time in a while, not many posts for this pattern so thought I’d share mine. This is McCalls 8195, in emerald washed linen from @blackbirdfabrics lined with bemberg lining. I made size 10 and plan to shorten the straps by about 1” and take a slightly wider seam allowance at the centre back zipper. Topstitched the straps to flatten them out and topstitched the empire seam for balance. 😇 this colour is 🤩and the linen is a delight to work with.   2. DAY 4: new day, new dress! 🙌🏼MADE: Lois dress by @tessutifabrics in printed rayon from @fabriclandwest ❤️THOUGHTS: A+ pattern! This dress is simple but flattering and only needs 2m of fabric for my size, in a light fabric it feels like wearing nothing at all, the V-neck is fantastic 😍and since you might wonder, yes I am wearing a bra, just a low cut one. I sized down for this, to a size 8, even though my measurements put me at a 10 if I remember correctly.   3. I dislike posting photos of myself so much, it’s one of the things that kept me from instagramming. But it sure does show off the dress much better than if it were on a hanger 💚the colour is spectacular and the bust detailing is so pretty! 🤩 Details: Washed linen in Emerald from @blackbirdfabrics lined with rayon bemberg lining. Pattern is McCall’s 8195, sleeveless view, size 10. Changes: took up the straps by 1” and took in the centre back seam by about an extra 1/2” per side. Nothing fancy, just took an extra wide seam allowance when putting in the zipper. I’d make this again, the fit is good and it was fun to make. It has inseam pockets that you can’t see and the skirt ends just above knee. I could wear a bra with this dress but also I don’t have to, win win 🏆 The biggest hurdle was cutting out the lining, because it’s slippery, after that the rest came together easily! Hey, I made an #ursasweater! 🥰 I’m going to be vulnerable for a minute: my sweet friend Jillian @logeephoto snapped this photo of me on our hike yesterday - and I love it - and even though I love it, and even though @levequerin said I look like a forest goddess, it was still really hard to post this. If you look through my profile, you’ll find every few photos of me, and I think you’ll MAYBE find one of my full body. Part way through making this sweater, I cried. Because I had to add bust darts, and my short rows looked awkward (side note - not the pattern’s fault, just my clumsy short rows), and I cried because I just wanted a smaller body. A smaller body so I wouldn’t have to add bust darts. A smaller body so I could use less yarn. So I could finish faster. But: I’ve been following more knitters who look like me. More designers who design garments for my body. And it’s helping. Slowly. But it’s helping. So I told Jillian yesterday that I wanted to take a photo of my new sweater, because I wanted someone with a body like mine to see it, and feel seen. So maybe I can slowly help someone else, too.
