  2. DO YOU KNOW WHAT SIGNS OF HARMFUL REACTIONS 😿🚑 TO WATCH FOR WHEN USING FLEA & TICK CHEMICALS ON YOUR PET? 💊💦 Many pet owners don’t realize that flea and tick treatments—whether chewables, spot-ons, or other products—can cause adverse reactions. Knowing the signs to look for is crucial so you can report any issues to your vet. For example, isoxazoline, a common insecticide, is easily absorbed and can cause seizures, behavior changes, and gastrointestinal issues. These type of reactions can even happen in humans if ingested as a 2-year-old boy (12 kg), the son of a veterinarian, ingested two chewable tablets💊 and developed an unsteady gait🫨 approximately 50 minutes later. By 2 hours after ingestion, he had ataxia, tremor, confusion and hallucinations. He was sedated with midazolam, and 10 hours after ingestion was only minimally ataxic. According to a recent study published in Vet Record, “The true incidence of neurological adverse effects from isoxazolines remains unclear. The delay between the administration and onset of signs can be long, and the association may be missed. A lack of timing information in the summary of product characteristics could also contribute to missed attribution of adverse effects.” This Sunday at 12 pm EST, we’re launching a Flea & Tick Prevention Series on Inside Scoop with expert tips on both chemical and natural prevention options. In the first episode, you’ll learn: 🦟 Best to Worst Chemical Preventives

  1. I’ve gone back and forth on whether to share this, but if it helps even one person avoid the heartbreak we’re living through, then it’s worth it. 💔 A few weeks ago, we lost our sweet Cleo in a way I still can’t wrap my head around — to pet suffocation. While we were out, she got a bag of her freeze-dried food off the counter. When we came home, we found her on her dog bed with the bag over her head. She was gone. We never got to say goodbye. It was unexpected and horrific. There are no words for the kind of guilt and shock that comes with finding your best friend like that. Cleo wasn’t a dog who got into things. She never was. But she’d been struggling with what our vet originally suspected was EPI, a condition that left her starving no matter how much she ate. Whether it was that or just a tragic freak accident, I’ll never know. But it happened. And it broke us. What I didn’t know is how often this happens. Dogs and cats can suffocate in chip bags, food bags, treat bags, or even peanut butter containers. The bag creates a vacuum seal and cuts off air in seconds. It’s fast, quiet, and tragically preventable. Please, please cut up empty food bags before throwing them out, and store treats and food somewhere your pets can’t reach, even if they’ve never gotten into things before. We never thought this could happen to us, but it did. Cleo was everything to us, our adventure girl, our light on the dark days, our family. Sharing this feels like ripping open a wound all over again, but if it saves even one life, then her story means something more than heartbreak. 💔🐾 ————— #petlossgrief #preventpetsuffocation #petloss #petsafety #dogsafety #grief

  2. Mother’s Day looked a little different this year. We spent the entire weekend at Ivy’s dance competition — Friday through Sunday — and between the costume changes, hair touch-ups, cheering, and quick snacks in between, there wasn’t much time to pause. It wasn’t the slow or restful kind of day, but it was such a reminder of what motherhood really is. It’s the showing up. The quiet presence. The behind-the-scenes effort that doesn’t always get seen, but means everything. Now that I’ve had a moment to catch my breath, I’ve been thinking about what this day means to me. Almost nine years into motherhood, I’m still learning. Still growing. It’s stretched me, grounded me, softened and strengthened me in equal parts. It’s made me more aware of who I am and who I want to become — for Ivy, for Nash, and for myself. Before I became a mom, I had already been building Fancy Face for ten years. I started it at 20, with a dream and a lot of drive. But becoming a mother changed me. It added depth, clarity, purpose — not just to my work, but to everything. It shifted the way I lead, the way I connect, and the way I view beauty. There’s more heart in it all now. More compassion. And while this post is deeply personal, I also want to acknowledge that not everyone’s Mother’s Day looks the same. To those who celebrated, and to those who grieved. To the mothers, the mother figures, and the women who love and nurture in quiet and powerful ways — I see you. The last photo in this post is of me skipping beside my grandmother’s garden. She taught me how to tend to it with care, patience, and love — lessons that have stayed with me in motherhood too. Because raising children, much like a garden, asks us to nurture what we hope will one day bloom.

  3. Life has a funny way of circling you back to your childhood passions, if you let it. Being an actor/dancer/singer, a triple threat as they say, was a huge part of my identity for so many years. I loved being a performer and entertainer with every ounce of my soul. Fast forward my time in the arts from 15 years old to 30, I then decided to step away from performing, focus on growing my business, start a family, become a wife and a mother to two wonderful children. I never did think I would revisit or ever come back to the career I once so deeply loved. I let it go and set it free. Fast forward to 37 years old… that calling and nudge came back. My heart yearned for a different type of creativity again… something removed from the world of beauty. It surprised me. How was I going to have the time and the fortitude to fit this in? How could I, with all my responsibilities, dare to dream again? I’m happy to report that you don’t always need the answer to that question. You can just start. Small steps. One foot in front of the other, just listening to your heart. It never steers you wrong. I’ve been rediscovering myself lately & realizing that it’s ok to open previously “closed” doors again. Needless to say, here are my headshots as a 40 year old actress. I come back into this with a renewed spirit… less need and more heart. I’m here because I want to be, not because I have to be. I act because the little girl in me wants me to. Does it make sense? Probably not. Does it set my soul on fire? Absolutely. Follow your dreams no matter how crazy it seems. You never know where it will lead you.
