  3. Happy 1 year to us. We did it! The hardest year of my life. There were a lot of moments this past year I really thought I couldn't do it anymore, and a lot of moments I really wished I didn't have to. Now that we've made it out the other side, all I wish is time would stand still exactly where it's at because where we are now is just the absolute best and I want to soak up every single little giggle and dance and smile. Goodnight my baby boy, see you tomorrow, a 1 year old 🤍🤍 (this song got me through many a car ride and tough moment, it was only fitting I used it, and who knows, maybe it will help someone else, too)

A Hoppy Easter indeed 🪺 We are excited to announce a new addition to our family - coming September 2023 ♥️ Almost at the half way point, I haven’t shared much about my pregnancy - although I am happpy to feeling back to myself, and we are all very excited to see our family grow! Navigating our own journey after losses, as well as working so closely with many fertility patients, has made me a little hesitant to announce. Not because I’m not happy, and not because I don’t want to openly share my own story, but because I want to be respectful of those struggling with their own fertility journey each and every day. Disney just released a short film about infant loss, grief and hope — it’s called Versa. it is less than 10 minutes long, with no dialogue, but words were not needed Versa was made after @malconpierce lost his precious son, Cooper the film features a couple and their dance through the joy of being pregnant, the devastation and destruction of losing their baby, the grief that separated them and the rebuilding of themselves - not back to who they used to be, but into new versions — with beautiful, gold filled scars why are films like this so important? it gives the loss community validation, a chance to be seen and better understood… i know i felt so deeply seen, and i loved that it featured a couple and depicted how grief can be felt so differently did i watch this 10x? did i sob my way through? you bet if you are a loss parent or you love a loss parent, i highly recommend you watch thank you @malconpierce and keely for sharing your Cooper with us. his legacy lives on through this and will touch so many other aching hearts 🤍 moana was already such a special movie for our family, but we will never watch it again without thinking of your boy have you seen Versa yet? what did you think?   2. it wasn’t enough, it could never be enough, but still i feel so lucky to have had them 🤍 when i lost my daughter vienna, i had already supported over 100 births i knew birth. i knew how to advocate. i knew what to ask for. i knew how to navigate the medical world… but even then, i was still incredibly, completely, and utterly overwhelmed at the same time, i couldn’t stop thinking about the women who didn’t have the “upper hand” that i had who walked into the hardest moment of their life with no information, no guide, no birth experience, no one to tell them what was coming next, or the life changing options that they had we got 24 hours in the hospital with vienna we kissed her. we hugged her. we read books. we danced. we sang to her. we took a million photos and videos. we had her dedicated. we visited her in the funeral home every day until we drove her body to the crematorium everything we got to do with her might horrify some people, but to a loss mom — these decisions, the opportunities I was able to have with my daughter meant… everything. my life is forever changed because I got to have them. in some weird twist of fate… in the aftermath, i felt grateful i knew how to make them happen that is one of the biggest reasons i made Held Through. so that in the middle of devastation, other mothers could have the opportunity to make informed choices — and know that they have options.. literally life changing options no woman deserves to walk through the most impossible decisions of her life without support that’s why Held Through exists 🤍 if you are preparing to say goodbye, or are in the middle of loss right now, or picking up the pieces in the aftermath — whether your loss was in the first, second, third trimester or your infant died — you deserve loving, compassionate, and informed support.
