  3. I’m marrying my husband for the third time this coming August 17th. See, our relationship has never been quite ā€œtypical.ā€ We’ve endured two years of long distance, a global pandemic, over 6,000 miles between us, and a million more hoops to jump through just to be able to live and work in the same country together. Nothing has been ā€œtypical,ā€ so it makes sense that our wedding journey isn’t either. In 2021 we had a quiet elopement in a greenhouse in Abbotsford. It was bittersweet. The day we were legally bound, one of the happiest days of our lives, and yet - it was spent without so many of our loved ones. Even more, I had to say goodbye to my new husband just 6 days after saying ā€œI do,ā€ not knowing when I would see him next. Then, in Lebanon 2023 - our Ktab kiteb - an Islamic Marraige observance. My husband and I come from different cultural backgrounds - and one of the greatest things that brings is the ability to broaden my own reality and learn what else the world has to offer. It made me love my husband that much more, and it felt like a privilege to be welcomed into that part of his life. Now, here we are - just over a week away from our official ā€œwedding.ā€ I’ve felt guilt with this celebration coming up - knowing that we’ve technically already had two ā€œmarriagesā€ prior to this. Talk about redundant. But then, I have to remind myself - we deserve this. We truly, whole-heartedly deserve this. A day to finally celebrate our love, and all of the work we put into this amazing relationship we’ve built. We deserve this. To be with all of our closest friends and family, to let loose and dance and drink and and eat and enjoy all there is to enjoy at a typical wedding. We deserve some normalcy. I also deserve to wear ALL of the wedding outfits. The countdown is on - i cannot wait to marry this man again, and say ā€œI doā€ to him every day for the rest of my life.

  1. We live in a fast-paced world, constantly juggling multiple responsibilities—school, starting a business, work, family, and everything in between. It’s easy to find ourselves caught up in the never-ending cycle of busyness, leaving little room for self-care and neglecting our own well-being. The truth is, when we constantly put our health on the back burner, we risk paying a heavy price in the long run. ā° We often find ourselves making excuses when it comes to prioritizing our nutrition, exercise, and self-care. The ā€œno timeā€ excuse becomes our go-to justification for skipping meal prepping, choosing quick and unhealthy meals, or skipping workouts altogether. But here’s the thing: time is never going to magically appear. We have to make it. āļø It’s time to break free from the time trap and start building small, sustainable wellness habits that will serve us for a lifetime. Remember, it’s not about finding hours in a day, but about making minutes count. 🄦 Start by incorporating simple, nutritious choices into your meals. šŸ’Ŗ As for exercise, find activities that you enjoy and that align with your lifestyle. It could be a brisk walk in the morning, a dance class in the evening, or a quick home workout during a study break. šŸ’†ā€ā™€ļø Self-care is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. Prioritize moments of relaxation, mindfulness, and self-reflection. Whether it’s a bubble bath, a quiet meditation session, or simply disconnecting from screens and spending time in nature. ā³ Remember, time waits for no one, and our health should never be put on hold. Embrace the power of small habits today, because the ripple effect of your actions will shape your future. When you prioritize your wellness, you’ll find that you have more energy, focus, and joy to pour into all areas of your life—your studies, your business, your work, and your relationships. ✨ It’s time to rewrite the narrative. Let’s stop making excuses and start making our well-being a priority. The time is now, and you have the power to create a healthier, happier, and more fulfilled life.

  3. Fitness is a valuable investment in your overall well-being, not just as a means to achieve physical goals. The more effort and dedication you put into your fitness journey, the greater the returns you will see in your ā€œconfidence account.ā€ Imagine your confidence as a bank account, where every positive fitness choice you make is like depositing money into that account. These deposits come in the form of workouts, nutritious meals, sleep, and self-care. The more consistently you make these deposits, the larger your confidence account grows. Investing in fitness is a win-win for several reasons: šŸ’ŖšŸ½Physical Benefits: Getting fit makes your body stronger, more flexible, and full of energy. Feeling healthy and strong helps boost your confidence. 🧠Mental Benefits: Exercise makes you feel happier by releasing natural mood-lifters in your brain. This can reduce stress and make you feel more positive, which boosts your confidence. šŸ†Achievement: Setting and reaching fitness goals, like running a 5K or mastering a yoga pose, makes you believe in yourself more, boosting your confidence. šŸŽ‰Self-Discipline: Sticking to your workouts and making healthy choices shows you can commit to goals. This builds your belief in yourself, not just in fitness but in everything you do. ā¤ļøSelf-Image: As your body gets healthier, you start to see yourself differently. You become proud of your achievements, and this makes you feel better about yourself, increasing your confidence. šŸ™ŒšŸ½Resilience: Fitness teaches you to face challenges and keep going, making you more resilient. This helps you tackle life’s difficulties with more confidence. šŸ’ƒšŸ»Social Confidence: Joining group fitness classes or sports can boost your social confidence. You meet people who share your interests, make friends, and learn skills that help in your personal and professional life. DAILY DEPOSITS. CASHOUT BIG. SHARE THIS WITH A FRIEND ā¤ļø

  2. We all have our stories… Clearly mine involved some critical mistiming šŸ˜‚ and is far from what my younger self had envisioned. When I found out I was pregnant, I was initially devastated. I felt alone, afraid and confused with a š˜š—µš—¶š—°š—ø š—¹š—®š˜†š—²š—æ š—¼š—³ š˜€š—µš—®š—ŗš—² on top. You see, I was raised in Roman Catholic and I was barely in a relationship. I lived across the globe from my family and was self employed - šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø š˜„š˜š—³ š˜„š—®š˜€ š—œ š—“š—¼š—¶š—»š—“ š˜š—¼ š—±š—¼?!?! Motherhood is associated with love, joy and celebration. Everyone expects us to be happy and grateful for this miracle. So why wasn’t I? I must be an awful person (šŸ‘‰insert more shame here). During an early ultrasound the tech said ā€œš—–š—¢š—”š—šš—„š—”š—§š—¦! š—œā€™š—¹š—¹ š—½š—暝—¶š—»š˜ š—¼š—³š—³ š—®š—» š—¶š—ŗš—®š—“š—² š—®š—»š—± š˜†š—¼š˜‚ š—°š—®š—» š˜€š—µš—®š—暝—² š—¶š˜ š—¼š—» š—œš—»š˜€š˜š—®š—“š—暝—®š—ŗā€. He meant well but I wanted to cry and throw up🤢 . As much as I wouldn’t change my story now, we need to normalize NOT LOVING an unexpected life change. Our own norms or struggles should not invalidate another’s feelings. Let’s have compassion and offer support wherever someone is at in their journey šŸ’•. To those ladies that I’ve had this exact convo with lately, big hugs to you. This can be hard and wonderful all at the same time.
