  2. Geïnspireerd op de post van @loiskruidenier Ik was 9 toen mijn moeder me uit de bosjes griste. Meegelokt door een buurjongen van 15 met een hondje. Ze was net op tijd. Ik was 11 toen ik voor het eerst harder ging fietsen omdat ik achterna werd gezeten en een ‘kk hoer’ werd genoemd. Ik was 12 toen een volwassen man, een docent, veel te dichtbij kwam en over me heen hing tijdens de Duitse les. Ik was 13 toen ik op school in het voorbijgaan werd aangeraakt door handen die ik niet kende. Ik was 14 toen ik voor het eerst zoende en meteen een p*k in mijn handen geduwd kreeg. Ik was 15 toen ik met mijn vriendje aan het vozen was op mijn zolderkamer, hij vroeg of hij even bij me naar binnen mocht, ik ‘nee’ zei, hij zichzelf er toch tegenaan duwde, ik mijn lichaam volledig voelde verstrakken, hij klaarkwam en zei ‘het is al goed zo’. Ik was 16 toen ik een vriend van 21 had die me ‘zo lekker puur’ noemde voor hij me ontmaagde. Ik was 17 toen ik besloot maar gewoon heel stil te blijven liggen tot de man van 25 klaar was en ik naar huis mocht. Ik was 18 toen ik op date ging met een collega, hij me een pistool liet zien en ik geen ‘nee’ meer durfde te zeggen. De volgende dag was ik de ‘slet’ op het werk. Ik was 21 toen ik in de trein werd lastiggevallen door een man. Ik was 33 toen ik ‘s ochtends onder de blauwe plekken wakker werd in bed bij de man waar ik mee aan het daten was, en me niets meer kon herinneren van de avond ervoor. Ik droeg die dag een coltruitje naar het kerstdiner met mijn familie. Ik was 38 toen een groep tienerjongens me klem reed en eentje zei dat ‘ie ook krullen had. Op zijn p*k. Ik ben 43 en vertel mijn 8 jarige dochter dat haar rokje te kort is. En dat ze toch maar even met me mee moet lopen de supermarkt in, in plaats van buiten op me te wachten. Zoals Lois schrijft: ‘En we mogen blij zijn als de tijdlijn verder gaat, want die van sommigen stopt bij 20, 30 of 17 💔Dit is geen nu-probleem. Dit is altijd-al-een-probleem. En dit probleem komt in alle kleuren.’

  3. A sad wedding… Not a word combination you will find often. Still a word combination that makes me feel sorrow. We all get taught an imagine and the expectation that weddings are supposed to be happy, the best time of your life even. We are not prepared for the stress, the pressure, the loss of friends, the missing of relatives and my depression that followed. We’re not prepared for the sadness that may surround a wedding. Nothing could have prepared me for the death of @dennisdiem , the designer of the dress and someone I looked up to and loved dearly. Which I wanted to talk about for months now but just couldn’t. Every time I started writing I just froze at the combination of those words… A sad wedding… His death made it even sadder. The beauty but also morbid side of it is that Dennis and I designed the wedding dress in such a way that I could wear different parts of it on different occasions. Never knowing that the first time I would wear a part of the wedding dress again would be to his funeral. Losing Dennis Diem had a huge impact on me, off course in respect to others that were even closer to him. I’m not a person to dwell in sadness by choice, just because I know I would never get out of it anymore. So @renatadutreephotography and me collaborated on making art out of this sadness surrounding the wedding. Don’t get me wrong the wedding also brought a lot of joy, strengthen of friendships and family and an embodiment of the years my husband and I invested in each other. I'm so happy that these pictures actually won prizes and I’m more then happy to see then mmm features in numerous galeries and art fairs like @atelierk84 & @nocknock.art and even in Paris!
