  1. If the best athletes in the world at the Olympics can’t rely on vegan / plant-based food to fuel their nutrition, then why should you be expected to? High performance and quick recovery requires the healthiest, most bioavailable foods like steak and eggs, not the gruel that some athletes are taking (e.g. glucose syrups and Lucozade). Most of these Olympians would do well to look at the work done by @noakestim showing how endurance athletes utilising a high-fat keto diet showed equal/better performance and quicker recovery than those on high carb. I wonder if any of them would try or are using a carnivore diet? 🤔

  2. Happy Sunday luvs !! 😘 very strangely wasn’t fancying a Sunday roast today so made some pork belly slices with creamy Parmesan mash, kale and parsley and garlic sauce instead ! I glazed the slices with Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice and a dash of olive oil and roasted them in the oven for 30 mins. The sweetness of the pork with the savoury/saltiness of the potato and parsley sauce was delish and super easy to execute. Lovleh!   3. 📍JURKISH 🇯🇲🇹🇷 (Jumbi, 133 Copeland Road, Peckham, SE15 3SN) Been waiting for months to try this place and it did not disappoint! Geniuinely so impressed and surprised by this amazing blend of cuisines (two of my personal faves, Turkish and Jamaican), and I would highly recommend for any occasion. Went with the girls and we had a ball, not least because it is set in one of our favourite south London music spaces (shoutout @jumbipeckham ♥️) Everything came out hot, steaming, fresh and fragrant and prices were fair. Here is what we had: 2) Saltfish Badedez Kofte - a saltfish fritter smothered in a garlic yoghurt sauce: so delicious! Salty, fluffy and a fab dish all round 👏🏻 3) Guava chicken - a solid fried chicken thigh in a hot and sweet guava glaze, balanced with a refreshing yoghurt dip. A super tasty and reliable bite! 4) Magarina Farinda - basically a deep macaroni cheese pie with caramelised onion and Turkish spices / flavours. This wasn’t my fave, (something about the combination of spices wasn’t making sense to my tastebuds) but the girls were living for this one! 5) Jurkish Doubles with jerk chicken - fabulous! Amazinggg trini flatbreads, filled with flavoursome salad, sauces, and tender jerk chicken. The oxtail doubles are next on our list 😋 6) Jurkish Chicken Kebab - a wonderful kebab and a generous serving of rice, bread, salad, pickles and sauce. Not a crumb left on this plate - an unsurpassable dish! 7) Curry Goat Manti - this dish epitomises what Jurkish is about and is truly inspired. This blend is a match made in heaven - big Turkish dumplings filled with succulent curry goat, surfing on a delightful curried butter sauce and yoghurt.   1. Leopard luck has never been on my side for photography. While I've had fantastic sightings of leopards they are often brief during a kill or under a bush. Although it's always an honour to share space with these animals if have never had the ideal circumstances to photograph them. The images you dream of and see other photographers take off beautiful leopards laying on a log have simply never fallen into my lap. Last week still less than ideal cloudy overcast conditions gave me that clear visual of a leopard lying in a tree. Not "the perfect photo" but most definitely a rewarding and perfect moment 🫶🐆 To those people who deem wildlife photography "easy" because "technology is so advanced these days". Let this be your visual reminder of how much time, patience ,tracking skills and luck is involved in finding these animals let alone getting those perfect photos. The unsuspecting victim 😂😂😂🦅⬅️⬅️⬅️ This has to be one of my favourite sets I've ever taken 😂 The sunrise over the water buck always makes for beautiful photos but for this buck annoyance was arriving in the form of a starling. Altho there is potential explaination for this relationship the buck didn't seem to pleased 😂😂 It provides however a fascinating example of nature’s partnerships: the starling and waterbuck share a commensalistic–mutualistic relationship. 🦅🐃 At first, the starling benefits by feeding on ticks and insects from the waterbuck's fur without affecting it (commensalism). Over time, the relationship becomes mutualistic, as the waterbuck gets relief from parasites while providing the starling with food and protection.
