  2. I put a poll on stories the other day and the most popular question was how much it cost to make my built in larder cupboard. So here’s a breakdown. It ended up costing about 10% of what it would have cost for someone to make it for me! (Which of course would have been much higher quality but wasn’t a practical option for us).   3. The internet thinks I fill my bath with the shower…but the tap is actually hidden. Did you notice it? This genius contraption is called an overflow bath filler - I wish I’d recorded myself attaching the pipework to the back because I wouldn’t have to try and explain it in witting but basically the water comes in through a flexible pipe at the back and out of a slot at the front of the overflow cover, and there is also a waste pipe that goes down to the plug hole that drains through the slot at the back (you can see both slots in the video), which is the actual overflow. Does that make sense? Have you heard of an overflow bath filler before?

The linen is extremely soft and the colours reflect exactly what you see on their website. Having said that, the real star of the show is the “Dream Cotton Quilt” - I am absolutely in love with it. Our bed is a king size and it’s big and the colour/texture couldn’t be more perfect for our bedroom. Second picture was taken in the exact same spot in June last year… I’m getting really excited about the sunnier days coming back - it means that we can finally start thinking about the garden again. If only you could see the chaos behind me… The neighbours’ silver birch filled about 5 bin bags worth of leaves and considering how tiny our garden is, that is a LOT of leaves. • We have the fences to paint and most importantly some planting to do. I haven’t showed it yet, but all along the fences we got the builders to construct some beds and covered them with these same @bakedtileco green tiles. The issue now is knowing what to plant. Initial idea was bamboos to create a bushy fence but I keep being told that they are a nightmare for a few reasons: Invasive + 🐀 heaven and that is already enough for me to rule it out. Now, Mo @mo.and.the.jungle.shelf shared the most interesting reel the other day about what he planted in his garden and I love the idea of having mature Laurels or something similar. It might take some space and need trimming but I think it will really create this bushy jungle greeniness (not a word) I’m looking for.   2. Time to look back at the best spontaneous project I’ve ever done. Painting the greenhouse dark blue and stencilling the floor completely transformed it! There is a blog with all the details, the link is in my bio. Stencil was from @dizzy_duck_designs and I used masonry paint matched to Farrow and Ball railings on the floor.   3. A sink in my greenhouse. I’ve wanted one ever since I saw Laura @howsitgrowingnj had put one in hers, last year. I wanted it to be unique and when I saw this pot in my local @frostsgardencentres the vision came to me. I used @makeitrustoleum clear satin sealer to make the pot watertight. Bought the beautiful tap from @allthingsfrenchstore through Etsy. The potting bench is from @gardentradingcompany .   1. Viral shower rail garland - what I learnt 🥰 1. It’s even easier than it looks - you have to try it! 2. You don’t need cable ties if your base garland is wire. I used black electrical tape to hold one end of the garland in place and no other fixings. 3. They don’t stand out as well with dark backgrounds - mine doesn’t photograph well therefore. 4. You can do it on your own - no help needed! 💪🏼 5. You can add as much as you want but even a little looks good so just try it! 6.   3. I knew this day was coming. But I wasn’t mentally prepared. My excited, little, animal loving 5 year old you see is about to turn 10 and nonchalantly told me the other day that he doesn’t want the jungle room of dreams any more. I get it. And I get that he won’t understand my sentimental sadness about my baby growing up, or appreciate the love and hard work I put into it (I cut down an actual tree from the back garden for fecksake)… but I was NOT prepared for how emotional that news would make me!! 😭😭💔 To be fair, he’s got a long wait - the downstairs bathroom, movie room/playroom and the guest bedroom are still yet to be done.
