It gives me a steady paycheck to fund my adventures and plan for the future, health insurance so I can do the outdoor activities I love without worrying an injury will bankrupt me, and a regular schedule that frees up all my weekends for travel! I’m comfortable in my role and that’s freed up so much mental energy to work on other projects outside of work! And overall, I don’t dread going to work.   3. EDIT: turned off commenting bc honestly I'm tired of getting notifications on this post. The poll had 72,202 votes. A few things to note: - My water bottle has a filter cap. Hollow tube filters filter out bacteria (like e. coli) and protozoa (like giardia). - I am hiking a 3000 mile trail and cannot carry the amount of water necessary for the whole thing. I replenish often using my filter because I have to and this is how thru-hikes work. - 85° in the exposed desert after being outside all day every day is hot. Original caption: Picture this: you've hiked 15 miles through the exposed desert. It's 85°F. You're out of water. You come across this cow tank, which has been confirmed as a water source on the trail. The next source is in another 10 miles. Do you drink it?

  3. When I decided to sell everything I owned and move into an RV with my two giant rescue dogs, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I spent months researching, touring, and walking through layouts to find the perfect fit—one that would keep all of us comfortable in our new home long-term. 🐕 🚐 Becoming a first-time homeowner (if you count a travel trailer lol) has been both rewarding and challenging.   2. It still feels surreal to say out loud. Most people assume I’ve never lived there… but the truth is, California is home. I was born and raised in Southern California. I left 12 years ago for college in New York, and somehow one year turned into twelve— degrees, a career, meeting the love of my life, and building a full, beautiful life here. But lately, I’ve felt this quiet ache for something more— more sun on my skin, more mountains that make me feel small in the best way. We didn’t rush it. We took our time, had the “what if” talks, and let the idea breathe. And then— life opened a door. I was offered a job at a Deaf school in California. It felt like a sign we couldn’t ignore.   3. my husband was a trooper through it all 🥰 I honestly can't imagine being 4 1/2 hours away and getting a text from a stranger saying your wife got hurt on a hike– with no other info and no way to reach her. But he didn't hesitate. He dropped everything, got in the car with my sister, and made the longest, most stressful drive of his life . . . and somehow . . . arrived just minutes before I came out of surgery. I don't remember much from that moment (except I was told I made some weird gibberish comments 😅), but I remember feeling safe the second I saw him. grateful doesn't even begin to cover it. 😘 .

  3. ✨ on episode 3 of Blev in Mexico, we spent the first half of our morning trading our freeedom for free desayuno. then hearing about how these time share ppl heavily scam folk when they come through, LOL! they brought us in with the promise of a discounted massage, breakfast and property tours and then made us sit for over an hour trying to get us to invest tens of thousands of dollars! we politely declined, then got ROCKED in the ocean on Kayak, almost had a panic attack jumping into bioluminescent, dark, abyssful sea waters, flat tire on our tour bus on the return, and a very… unpleasant man taxi driver to top it off. it was…. an absolutely memorable day. that’s how you do mexico! lmao! ✨🧚🏽✨
