When you’re preparing for a tournament, you don’t just practice what you’re already good at-you target the gaps. @iamjamiefoxx and I identified his return as a major area of need, so we broke the process down from the ground up. We focused heavily on the mechanics of the return itself: loading the legs and intentionally pushing through the ball, rather than just slapping at it. From there, it’s about the transition—using that forward momentum to follow the flight of the ball straight to the kitchen line. To make the muscle memory stick, we wrapped up with a match-like sequence to finish the drill. Simulating that real-game pressure is what bridges the gap between practice and tournament day.
