  1. the best tonkatsu i’ve ever had🍖🍱 @ginzabairinhawaii If you’re looking for a tonkatsu spot in Waikīkī, make sure to add Ginza Bairin to your list. 🍱 Located right in the heart of Waikīkī, Ginza Bairin Tonkatsu & Yoshoku Bistro is the first location outside of Asia for this nearly 100-year-old restaurant that originally opened in Ginza, Tokyo in 1927. They’re known for their premium tonkatsu, signature sauce, and traditional Japanese set meals. 🐷 Kurobuta Deluxe Set This was easily the star of the meal. The Kurobuta pork was incredibly juicy, tender, and packed with flavor while still having that perfectly crisp golden crust. The deluxe set came with all the extras, including chawanmushi, grated yam, dessert, rice, miso soup, pickles, and cabbage salad, making it feel like a complete feast. I loved grinding the sesame seeds and mixing them into the tonkatsu sauce for an extra layer of flavor. (ginzabairinhawaii.com) 🦪 Oyster Mix Set If you’re indecisive, this is the move. The set comes with fried oysters, fried shrimp, and Kurobuta pork katsu so you get a little bit of everything. The oysters were plump and juicy, the shrimp had a satisfying crunch, and the pork was just as delicious as expected. Every bite was crispy without feeling heavy. (ginzabairinhawaii.com) Overall, I can see why this place is one of the most popular tonkatsu spots in Waikīkī. Everything was cooked perfectly, portions were generous, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. If you’re craving a comforting Japanese meal while in Hawaiʻi, this spot is definitely worth checking out. What we ordered: 🐷 Kurobuta Deluxe Set 🦪 Oyster Mix Set #waikikifood #honolulueats #oahufoodie #hawaiifoodie #tonkatsu

  2. spilling all tea 🫖 @therotundaparamus Stepping into The Rotunda at Neiman Marcus feels like such a treat every time. I recently went for their tea service and honestly, it might be one of my favorite experiences in the city. At $69 per person, I’ve tried a range of tea services from super luxe to more budget-friendly, and this one truly hits the sweet spot for both value and vibes. 🫖 Tea Service You get your own pot of hot tea with a ton of options to choose from, which I love because everyone can pick exactly what they’re in the mood for. They also offer an optional champagne add-on if you’re feeling extra, but we skipped it this time and still had the best experience. 🥐 Popover & Consommé You already know the iconic popover had to be mentioned. It comes out warm with their strawberry butter and it’s SO good. Light, fluffy, and honestly one of the highlights. The consommé is also included and is super comforting and rich. 🥪🍰 Sweets & Savories They bring out a full tiered tray with finger sandwiches, scones, and desserts. It’s a mix of savory and sweet, and everything felt really well-balanced. The scones were buttery and soft, and the desserts were the perfect little bites to end the experience. What I love most is that it’s actually a lot of food. I wasn’t super hungry going in, so I ended up taking a good portion home, which made it feel even more worth it. If you’re looking for a tea service that gives you the full experience without feeling over-the-top expensive, this is 100% the one I recommend. #sanfranciscoeats #afternoontea #bayareafoodie #sfbrunch #foodiefinds

  3. japanese inspired cafe, mini mart, and deli in palo alto @yutori_pa 🍣🍙🇯🇵 I finally just checked out @yutori_pa and luckily, on a Saturday morning the line wasn’t too long, which was quite a surprise to be considering this line is always wrapped around the block. We really tried pretty much half of the store a little bit from their drinks, pastries, and savory foods and I can definitely say that there are a lot of choices here and I have some favorites and some things. I probably wouldn’t get again. my favorites had to be the ebi katsu sando, the sesame chocolate chip cookie, and the matcha financier. The shrimp Katsu sandwich was the perfect texture and flavor. You really could taste the big chunks of shrimp in there and I thought it was just a really cohesive sandwich. I also loved the sesame chocolate chip cookie. This wasn’t black sesame. It was just toasted white sesame, and I really gave this nutty flavor to balance out the chocolate and the butter which I loved. Although the Matcha dusting on the top of the Matcha financier was a bit of an overkill, the actual patriot itself was really well done and I don’t say that often with financiers that aren’t my dads. i think it was worth the try for all the onigiris and rice plates but it was a bit pricy and lackluster. there just wasn’t enough filling, and mostly just rice. what we ordered: 🍤 Ebi Katsu Sandwich
