  2. 🎬 Book Feature 🎬 Everything’s Clming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh Publisher: Thomas Nelson Pub Date: June 10, 2025 Thank you so much @tlcbooktours for the #gifted copy and for including me on the tour! I’m so excited to read this one soon! 🩷 About: Rosie Waterman has one dream: to become a working actor. But lately, that hasn’t been working out. When she loses her apartment and her job on the same day, she does what she always does–puts herself out there, ready to find the next big thing. But a trip home makes her realize that while she’s been struggling to make this dream come true, all her friends have become real adults with careers and weddings and babies on the way. Rosie’s been at this for years, and she has nothing to show for it. But how does she simply let go of her dream? When she’s offered a job as the director of a regional theatre’s production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance–even though she’s only directed in college and the job is in Door County, Wisconsin, and not in New York. She has no other offers, and at least she’ll be getting paid to do something theatrical. But when she arrives, she quickly realizes that the “regional theatre” is actually in a retirement community, and the “actors” are actually senior citizens with no acting experience whatsoever. Working on the show presents new challenges, forcing Rosie to learn how to step up and be the leader this fledgling theatre troupe needs. The more time she spends with her new cast, the more she begins to rethink what it means to dream big, especially when that big dream hasn’t turned out to be at all what she thought it would be. It’s not at all what she expected, but could it be exactly what she needs? Predictive Text: Everything’s coming up …. QOTD: Do you enjoy live theatre/musical productions? #EverythingsComingUpRosie #CourtneyWalsh #ChristianFiction #WomensFiction

  3. ⚒️ Book Review ⚒️ Thank you so much @getredprbooks for the #gifted copy and for including me on the tour! Found family has become a favorite trope for me and this book reminded me of why I love it so much. The deep bonds the friends share really touched my heart. I always enjoy New York settings and the historic brownstone at the heart of this story was fabulous. Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone but it’s worth the time to read and enjoy all three! About: Harper Ross has always dreamed of working on one of the magnificent brownstones of Park Avenue. Now one of her closest friends has bought the house of her dreams and hired Harper to do the construction work. She wants to showcase the renovation on a television show for her brand-new production company. It’s the same grand home she and her friends promised themselves they would be able to afford one day. Working on it isn’t the same as living in it, but it’s all a part of Harper’s grand plan to grow her father’s construction business into one of the biggest in the city. The only obstacle—the designer on the project. Reid Dorsey believes in the balance between beauty and functionality. As one of Manhattan’s new voices in design, he’s excited to get to work on a true Gilded Age property. If only the owner had selected a contractor he enjoyed working with. Oh, Harper was brilliant and her work was excellent, but she has an opinion on everything—and it’s usually the opposite of his. Over the course of the job, these enemies start to see different sides of each other, and suddenly their fights don’t seem so bad. But when the project is threatened, they might have to choose between their jobs and the beautifully designed future they could share. QOTD: Do you watch home improvement/renovation shows or videos? Are you good at DIY projects? #BuilttoLast #LexiBlake #getredpr #TheParkAvenuePromiseSeries

  1. I’m honored beyond belief to be on the cover of the February issue of Birmingham Lifestyle Magazine 🤯 This issue is helping me celebrate a very important upcoming milestone: the 52nd episode of One Week In Birmingham. That’s ONE FULL YEAR in Birmingham documented!! Y’all, I don’t know where to begin besides thank you. For many weeks (like…24) this series was watched by my friends and family, and that’s pretty much it! I’m grateful for those weeks because I got to fall in love with OWIB regardless of outcome. However, having this gain any traction at all, and getting to connect with people across Birmingham in the process, has added such joy to my life. From from taco trucks to improv teams, from cocktail bars to DJs, Birmingham is a city full of people sticking their necks out and trying stuff for all of us to enjoy. I think that’s my definition of a thriving city. For all its potholes, Birmingham is home to thousands of the most creative artists, the most innovative makers, and the most resilient business owners. Getting to share what YOU have created is a privilege. I work really hard to make sure this series stays as high quality as Birmingham deserves, and I’m going to keep doing that for as long as I can 🫡 Thank you, truly, for being here. Y’all I LOVE THIS CITY!! Photo by the incredible @marycfehr . I’ll be sharing more from the feature soon, but the meantime, you can find the issue by Friday at these locations: Shoppe Design Supply Cala Coffee (all locations) Frothy Monkey (downtown) June Coffee Innovation Depot Red Cat (Pepper Place) Santos (MBV) Gilchrist Grand Bohemian Continental Bakery Mountain Brook YMCA The Retreat Day Spa Ashley Macs (Cahaba Heights & Homewood) Magic Muffins Leaf and Petal (Cahaba Heights) Shaia’s Bandwagon (Edgewood) Little Professor Swaddle Avani Rupa O’Henry’s (Brookwood) NY Butcher Shop Cafe 59 Weigh to Wellness Osteostrong On Tap (Liberty Park) Liberty Park Pharmacy

  3. Introducing my Shop Local Birmingham Holiday Gift Guide! 51 gift ideas across 44 local Birmingham area businesses. Your shortcut to cool, thoughtful gifts AND reinvesting in our city. These items all support local in some way - locally owned brands, locally made products, or products sold by local stores. Proof that no matter what we’re looking for, who we’re shopping for, or what our budget is, we can shop local this holiday season. All of these gift ideas have been found in stores (or marked available on their website) this week, meaning they are there now and ready for you to take home! But there are several one-of-a-kind gems, which make them an even better gift but a hotter commodity. If you see something you gotta have, go soon! For the past few days I’ve been going to stores, holding items in my hand, and chatting with business owners. I’ve been reminded that Amazon doesn’t need me. My neighbors do. I’m going to be supporting somebody’s business this holiday season, why wouldn’t I make it my neighbor’s? Of course, this isn’t a complete list of local businesses. A girl can only physically go to so many stores! Our options in Birmingham are VAST and every store has SO MANY great items. But I hope this can be a helpful place to start. Let me know if you end up getting something from this list! (especially if it’s the cheese) I can only tag 20 accounts on the post, so here is every business mentioned! @28thstmatches @alabamagoods @alabamapeanut @athomefurnishings @abasicshop @bbgardens @bigspooncreamery @bhamzoo @chocolata_bham @civilstoneware @cookie_fix @designsupplyshop @dimplesbhm @el_encollection @farawaybham @generalbham @goldenagewine @goodiestoy_bham @hannaantiques @homewoodtoy_hobby @irelandfarms @junecoffeeco @kripalanitailors @lefresca @lenellsbham @levysfj @thelittleredprintshop @makebhm @memorylanebhm @nbnkettlecornco @pala_pilates @popjoy_studio @revivalbirmingham @saturnbham @seasickrecords @shoppebham @sojournsfairtrade @thesonofabutcher_bham @stash_bham @studiobythetracks @thankyou_bham @tombeckbe @yellowhammer_creative

I went dark and twisty thrillers but also I haven’t read any of these, so I’m just guessing 🤣 I know Slaughter is the queen of dark and disturbing, and I can’t wait to read Hayder! 🖤 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴𝘵𝘢 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴: @findapassion1114 @bethanyburiedinbooks @thrillerschillersandkillers @bellville_lfl @fashionably.bookish @abookwormwithwine @redheadbookaholic @Booked.With.Julia @sherrireads @gymgirlreads If you’d like to continue sharing in book fun with us, follow #picklemeanewread #𝘘𝘖𝘛𝘋 - Have you read Karin Slaughter or Mo Hayder? 2. 🏡 Thank you @grandcentralpub {#partner} Happy Tuesday!! I refuse to say anything happy about Monday on here 🤣 I have a pedicure after work that I’m really looking forward to since it’s been months and it is desperately needed! ❓Would you rather find out a long-standing conspiracy theory was true or find out a juicy piece of gossip only you knew? ᖇᗴᐯIᗴᗯ. I was drawn in by the cover of The House Hunt and this ended up being my first read by C.M. Ewan! I don’t know why I haven’t seen his books before, and I definitely want to read him again. I loved that this is told in two viewpoints, and the tension builds as we jump back and forth between Lucy and her boyfriend Sam. Lucy is freaked out at almost everything and you can feel the paranoia coming off her in waves. Sam’s POV was interesting as well thanks to the group he is leading where everyone has a phobia. Ewan did a great job at keeping the reader guessing, and the emotions were so vivid that I almost started looking behind my own self. The audiobook was expertly voiced by Tamaryn Payne & Christopher Bonwell, and I loved them as the voices of Lucy and Sam. They portrayed their characters flawlessly and I especially loved Payne’s portrayal of Lucy. It made me a little jumpy, not gonna lie, and the audio is clearly the way to go here. The only thing I didn’t really understand is where the title The House Hunt came from, as it is someone trying to sell a house and not buy one. Never got that ah ha moment from the title, but that is a small thing. The storyline does get a little out there at the end and you do have to suspend disbelief, but the twists were twisty, and I loved the suspensefulness! Read this if you are looking for a bingeable read with quick chapters, tension galore, and an over the top ending. 𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝙰𝚞𝚍𝚒𝚘𝚋𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  3. 🔥🚒 Thank you @mbc_books @maureenjohnsonbooks @harperteen {#partner} It’s hump day!! And a beautiful day in Colorado. Hoping to get out for a walk after work since I didn’t make it out yesterday 🙈 ❓What do you like to do when you have nothing to do? (BESIDES reading 😉) ᖇᗴᐯIᗴᗯ. Death at Morning House by Maureen Johnson was such a fun read and proved to me that I need to stop putting off this author’s other books. I loved the dual timelines between Marlowe and the Ralston family in 1932 which eventually come together so the reader knows exactly what happened at Morning House. There was so much to uncover, and I loved all of the little clues and twists along the way. Marlowe made me LOL quite a bit, while the Ralston POV was more serious and ominous. Who knew candles could be so dangerous?! I listened to and loved the audiobook and thought Katherine Littrell did a wonderful job as the narrator. I am a pretty large fan of hers in general, and she did an excellent job with every aspect of her narration here. Death at Morning House is a queer romance and murder mystery all wrapped up in one fast-paced story and thriller readers who love YA are sure to enjoy it. I especially enjoyed the end and the introduction with the articles! Plus, Marlowe’s POV gives new meaning to the phrase if you can’t be good, be careful. 😉 𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝙰𝚞𝚍𝚒𝚘𝚋𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚁𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My hubby & I can laugh about it (& you can too) but as you read the story you can see if the tables were turned how badly it could have ended for someone of color. This is a true definition of white privilege. ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ When I first met Kens Aunt Irma in Indianapolis I was in his Aunts backyard with Brandi (she’s so little the person didn’t see her) & Irma’s neighbor called to tell her ~ ⁣⁣⠀ “Irma, there’s a White Woman in your backyard and I think she lost”. Irma In Return said “No baby she’s not lost she’s family”. Anyways just a story to share we just need pick up the phone and call someone (the neighbor obviously felt I didn’t belong) one does not need to rush to call the police or pick up their gun. Don’t judge the person by if you may think they don’t belong there. Don’t be like the lady in WI that called the cops on a black man she didn’t think belonged in her new complex and he indeed did (that happened last week). 𝕋𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥 𝕠𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕤 𝕒𝕤 𝕙𝕠𝕨 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕨𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕝𝕚𝕜𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕓𝕖 𝕥𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕕. As you can see in that story if I was black in a rich white neighborhood someone may have called the cops or worst yet shoot me because they didn’t think I could belong there. As In their eyes I may simply just didn’t fit it in due to the color of my skin. White privilege doesn’t mean your life hasn’t been hard, it just means your life wasn’t made harder just because of the color of your skin. 🖤❤️🖤⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ “𝕆𝕦𝕣 𝕝𝕚𝕧𝕖𝕤 𝕓𝕖𝕘𝕚𝕟 𝕥𝕠 𝕖𝕟𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕕𝕒𝕪 𝕨𝕖 𝕓𝕖𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕤𝕚𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕥 𝕒𝕓𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕞𝕒𝕥𝕥𝕖𝕣.” ~ 𝕄𝕒𝕣𝕥𝕚𝕟 𝕃𝕦𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕂𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕁𝕣.⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ 𝐿𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝒜𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈 ~ 𝒯𝑜𝓈𝒿𝒶 😘⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ ⁣⁣#alllivesmatterwhenblacklivesmatter #bekindalways #spreadlovenothate #spreadlove #bethelight #bethechange #blm #loveovereverything #antiracism #powertothepeople #blmmovement #youcansipwithus #onehope #tvo🥂 #diftt🍞 #endracism #blacklivesmatters #lovealways #lovealwayswins #becoming #interracialcouple
