A couple of months back I bought myself this @daylight.lamps Luminos. It was a bit of an extravagant purchase but I had seen how good they were from visiting the Cult Of Paint MPO (along with various other painting competitions and shows) a couple of years ago and have been wanting one ever since. It’s a lot of money but it’s also been genuinely brilliant and I’m really happy I made the investment! The light it produces is amazing for both building/painting with and for taking pictures under. The adjustment on it, and the seriously solid support arm, are great, making it an absolute pleasure to use! [ad] Behind the scenes: How I assess garments! Before I can start repairing a garment, I need to establish what I'm dealing with - quite often, a knitwear piece will have more damage than the customer initially noticed. Large holes are easy to spot, but smaller ones can be trickier. Using a lightpad speeds up the assessment process for me, and it also allows me to catch weakened areas so I can address them before they turn into holes (a stitch in time etc...) If a garment has multiple holes, I mark them out with safety pins, and I also note down how many holes of different sizes there are, to help me calculate approximately how long the repair will take. 😅 I'm using a Tabla Go lightpad by @daylight.lamps - it's a really sturdy design, and the A4 size that I've got is rechargeable (which i

I'm also prone to migraines, so I need to avoid too much eye strain (which can result from working in poor light). As a result, I am REALLY particular about my work lighting.
