Why is it that I can visit Le Labo over and over again and still be surprised by it each time? I find that beyond the pleasing aesthetics and unique style to it, each fragrance is a complete identity in itself but on so many levels. The ability that Le Labo have to express the beauty of olfactory elements in their honest raw form with no manipulation is part of what makes them so admirable. Vanille 44 was one of the fragrances that absolutely changed my perspective on Vanilla because it is as vanilla should be, yes there’s a sweetness but it’s earthier, more powdery and there’s something almost dirty about it. Of course I adore the popular scents like Santal 33, thé Noir 29 and Another 13, though I think many scents are royally underrated. Namely Lavande 31 or Vetiver 46, among many others
