GoAffPro vs. Shopify Collabs: Which is Best?

GoAffPro and Shopify Collabs both help online stores work with creators who promote their products. GoAffPro is an affiliate marketing app you install on your ecommerce store. Shopify Collabs is an app Shopify created to help businesses with influencer marketing.

Both are solid, affordable options for brands looking to boost awareness and sales through affiliate partnerships. But which is best? And are there any other options you should be considering? Read on to find out...

GoAffPro vs. Shopify Collabs at a glance

Pick GoAffPro if you want a dedicated affiliate app that gives you control over recruiting, commissions, and portal branding. Pick Shopify Collabs if you want an influencer marketing app built by Shopify itself.

Where they differ: GoAffPro is an independent app with a free Hobby plan, paid plans starting at $49/month, MLM support, and an affiliate portal on your own domain. Shopify Collabs comes from Shopify, is free to use (apart from fees on commission payments – more on that later), and is an easy way to start working with creators from the comfort of your Shopify admin.

However, both tools have limitations. For example, neither shows a creator's audience demographics or engagement metrics before you reach out. So if affiliate recruitment is a key element in your program workflow, consider a dedicated tool like Modash, which lets you search 380M+ creator profiles across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and shares detailed profile data you can view at a click.

Okay, that's a quick look at both tools (plus a potential alternative). Now let's get into a detailed, blow-by-blow comparison:

GoAffPro lets you search and invite creators from its Recruit tab

If you only wait for creators to apply, your program's growth is effectively out of your hands.

With GoAffPro, merchants can go looking for creators instead of waiting for applications to arrive. The Recruit tab in the GoAffPro admin panel is where you search for influencers and invite them to join your affiliate program.

Filters do the narrowing. You can sort the list by niche, region, tags, country, and category, which leaves you with creators who fit your product. Profiles come next. Each influencer profile in GoAffPro shows the creator's profile picture, bio, age, gender, niche, and country, plus links to their social handles. From there, you can send an invitation and customize the email template that goes out.

GoAffPro also offers a Marketing CRM for creators, so recruiting and follow-up happen in the same app.

You can proactively recruit on Shopify Collabs, too, but there's one problem: it's currently closed to new creator signups. In fact, a little searching on the Wayback Machine shows that it hasn't accepted them since July 2025 at the latest, and it may never do so again – who knows?

However, the biggest recruitment-related issue with both platforms is that their databases are opt-in, so you're limited to searching affiliates who've actively signed up. This naturally means you're fishing from a smaller pool.

By contrast, with Modash, you can reach the right creators before they've applied anywhere. Recruiting is outbound from the start, with a searchable database of 380M+ creators that also includes people who haven't signed up to any affiliate network. Modash shows each creator's audience demographics and engagement metrics during discovery, so you can judge fit before you send any outreach.

✍️ Bottom line: GoAffPro is a good match for brands looking for a built-in way to search, filter, and invite creators without leaving their affiliate app. Shopify Collabs does this too, but isn't currently accepting new creators. Both are opt-in platforms, whereas Modash suits brands that want to recruit outbound and see audience data before the first message.

GoAffPro installs across ecommerce stores, Shopify Collabs is built by Shopify

Who builds your affiliate app shapes how it fits into the rest of your stack. That's the first practical difference between these 2 apps.

GoAffPro is an affiliate marketing app that merchants install on their ecommerce store. It positions itself around ecommerce stores in general rather than around a single store builder. That makes GoAffPro an independent vendor you add to your stack, with its own account and its own roadmap.

Shopify Collabs comes from Shopify itself, which created the app to help businesses with influencer marketing. Because Shopify built Collabs, the app comes from the same company that runs your store, not from a separate developer, and the whole thing works in your existing store admin. If your brand is fully committed to Shopify, that means one fewer outside vendor to evaluate.

Modash connects to your Shopify store via our Shopify integration, so each sale is credited to the right creator and their commissions are tracked for you.

Creator payment setup modal—set up a payout by uploading a contract/invoice details and entering recipient channel, creator username, and recipient email as part of the pay flow.

Click tracking works on any website, regardless of platform, so creator links can send shoppers to blog posts or landing pages outside your store.

✍️ Bottom line: GoAffPro fits brands that want an independent affiliate app made for ecommerce stores. Shopify Collabs suits Shopify-committed brands that would rather use an influencer marketing app built by Shopify itself.

Shopify Collabs has no monthly subscription, just fees

You want to know what a program will cost before it earns anything.

Shopify Collabs is hard to beat in the affordability stakes because it's totally free, with no minimum commitment (although, naturally, you're already paying Shopify to host your store).

The only thing you might have to pay is a 2.9% processing fee on automatic commission payments, although you can get around this by paying affiliates manually outside of Shopify Collabs.

GoAffPro offers some free functionality, too. Its Hobby plan covers the core features you need to run an affiliate campaign and is designed for merchants with <100 daily orders, so you can launch a new program without paying for a subscription.

Beyond that level, you're likely gonna need to upgrade to a paid plan, starting at $49/month.

Modash doesn't offer a free plan (although we do offer a 14-day free trial).

✍️ Bottom line: Shopify Collabs is totally free if you're prepared to pay affiliates manually outside the platform. GoAffPro offers a generous free plan, but it's only recommended for stores with 100 daily orders or fewer.

GoAffPro features group commissions & bonus targets

Not every partner should earn the same rate. With GoAffPro, you can pay different types of affiliates different rates instead of using one commission across the whole program. Its Affiliate Groups setting creates commission groups, so each type of affiliate can have its own commission structure.

Groups go beyond rates. Each group can also have its own rewards and signup page, so a creator tier and a customer referral tier can run side by side.

Bonuses add a second layer. GoAffPro's Targets and Bonuses setting adds targets, commission boosters, recurring bonuses, and a signup bonus for affiliates. When a customer is linked to an affiliate in GoAffPro, all of that customer's future purchases are credited to the same affiliate.

Automations handle the busywork. GoAffPro's Automations tab takes repetitive program tasks off your plate as the program grows. Automations can run on a new order, daily, or on affiliate signup, and they can check conditions such as an affiliate's total sales count, net sales volume, or account age.

Shopify Collabs lets you create multiple commission tiers to reward higher-performing affiliates, plus you can set product-specific rates if you like.

Tiered commissions are a thing on Modash, too. Plus you can pay a separate rate for new customer sales – perfect if you're specifically using affiliate as an acquisition channel and place less priority on orders from existing customers.

✍️ Bottom line: GoAffPro works well if you need several commission rules running at once, with different rates per affiliate group and bonuses for hitting targets, without adding manual affiliate program management.

GoAffPro supports MLM chains and party plans for direct-sales programs

Direct-sales brands reward recruiting as well as selling, and GoAffPro is built to handle that structure. GoAffPro supports multi-level chains with unlimited breadth and depth, plus a compensation plan builder for more advanced MLM plans. That suits programs where affiliates recruit other affiliates as well as sell.

GoAffPro also supports party plans, a home-party model where a host shares a party link with friends, family, or guests. When someone orders through that link, the host gets a reward and the affiliate earns a commission.

The affiliate runs the workflow. Affiliates create party links for hosts from their own dashboard, and hosts get their rewards automatically by email once the party period ends.

You stay in control of the economics. Program admins can set a separate commission rate for party orders, a discount for the host, and a host reward that can optionally be a conditional bonus.

A standard creator program don't use these structures, so you only need to weigh them when comparing GoAffPro with Shopify Collabs if your model depends on recruiting chains or host parties.

✍️ Bottom line: GoAffPro fits direct-sales brands whose programs run on downlines, home parties, or paid affiliate memberships.

GoAffPro lets you brand the affiliate portal on your own domain

Your affiliates should feel like they're joining your brand, not a software vendor.

With GoAffPro, you can swap the default affiliate portal and dashboard for a branded, white-label experience. The web address is the most visible change. Instead of a portal at yourbrand.goaffpro.com, you can set a custom domain so affiliates log in at an address like partners.yourstore.com.

Signup is the next place your branding shows up. On the portal's landing page, you can edit any of the text, add a custom banner, and change the header and button colors to match your brand. GoAffPro also offers 3 signup page styles (classic, slim, and modern) and custom signup fields such as drop-downs, file uploads, and signatures.

Onboarding is another lever. The dashboard can double as an onboarding hub once affiliates are in. You can add custom pages for an affiliate FAQ or brand guidelines, plus widgets like a leaderboard and the commission structure.

Each affiliate's home tab shows their referral link, any coupon code you've assigned, and a summary of referrals, orders, conversions, sales, and earnings. Affiliates can also create trackable product links themselves, so you aren't fielding link requests one at a time.

Shopify Collabs and Modash both let you add your brand name and logo to your portal, although they're less customizable than GoAffPro. Modash keeps creator-facing links on-brand too, because you can set up a custom domain for the short tracking links creators share.

✍️ Bottom line: GoAffPro is the better pick if you want affiliates to sign up, log in, and grab their links on a portal with the store's own domain, copy, and colors.

Which should you choose?

Choose GoAffPro if:

  • You want to go looking for creators yourself, with a Recruit tab that filters influencers by niche, region, and country.
  • You run a direct-sales, party-plan, or tiered program that needs MLM chains or different commission rates per affiliate group.
  • You want to start on a free plan and only move to a paid tier when you need automations and fraud management tools.

Choose Shopify Collabs if:

  • Your store runs on Shopify and you'd rather use an influencer marketing app built by Shopify than add an outside vendor.
  • Your main goal is reaching more shoppers through creators on social media.
  • You don't have budget for a paid tool.

A third choice: Modash

Whichever app you pick, one gap stays the same: neither GoAffPro nor Shopify Collabs lets you check a creator's audience demographics and engagement metrics before outreach.

Modash starts with discovery. You can search 380M+ creators, including people who haven't signed up to any affiliate network, and see each creator's audience demographics and engagement metrics before you send a message. So you know who a creator reaches before you spend time on outreach.

Tracking comes next. Once creators are on board, Modash tracks their content and credits sales from their links and discount codes to the right creator. You can see what each creator posts and what it sells, all in one place.

Paying creators stays simple. Modash charges based on what you pay affiliates, not on the revenue they drive, with a 0% fee on up to $10,000 in yearly payouts on the Performance Annual plan and a 5% fee only on the amount above that. You pay one Modash invoice, and Modash handles creator payment and tax.
