I remember the day I found out I was pregnant, like it was yesterday… I had to go to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne (over an hour away from my hometown) for a checkup in regards to my car crash. I told my mum not to worry about coming in and just to wait for me in the waiting room. I was getting an ultrasound to make sure my mad as blood clot was gone. I noticed the doctor was doing the ultrasound for ages and even though it was in my right leg she started going up all around my tummy. Finally she told me, my blood clot was indeed gone BUT I need to book in with my GP right away as she picked up a heartbeat - and that I was pregnant (it wasn’t technically her job, so she wasn’t meant to tell me). I was so happy, I called Deng before I went back to my mum and told him. As soon as I got home, I went and got a pregnancy test & it was definitely positive. My entire world, instantly changed. I felt like I had a purpose. My dreams of becoming a mum were finally coming true. Since that moment, throughout my pregnancy and during the past 6 years my love for my baby has somehow gotten stronger and stronger (which I didn’t even think was possible). Thank you to my darling boy, for choosing me to be your mum. I will always go above and beyond for you, I’ll be by your side through whatever life brings to you. I’ve adored you since day one. Happy birthday my little king 👑

  2. aka stomach vacuum’s… it actually took me a bit to get the hang of doing these when I first started. Making that mind to muscle connection was actually harder in the first trimester than it was in the third surprisingly enough. You would think doing these vacuums with a big belly would be hard, but it actually felt great. I didn’t start doing these until maybe the end of my first trimester when other core exercises started to get harder. I wanted to find a core exercise that I could do my whole pregnancy to minimise diastasis recti as much as possible. I swear doing these also really helped with any hip or back pain I had. I honestly think my recovery would have been different if I didn’t do these everyday. Looking back it’s actually crazy to see how much I could bring in my stomach when Alice was in there. The first clip of this video is 2 days before I had her. I still try to do them as many times a day.. when I can remember to do them with a 3 month old attached to me 😅 So pregnant mamas this is your sign to start “hugging your baby” and hopefully it will help with your postpartum recovery as much as it has myn! #postpartum #pregnancyworkout #postpartumrecovery #workout #excersise

When I said I wanted a huge farm house table as our kitchen bench I searched high and low here in Australia but everything was either too small, too big, too expensive, not quite the right style or couldn’t be shipped to Adelaide etc etc. I was told it wasn’t going to happen by a lot of people but i knew it had to happen. It was the heart of the kitchen! So I decided to design one myself… I bought the turned legs I wanted from a local supplier and got it all put together here in Adelaide. It was then my job to make it look authentic so I stained it, sourced some antique handles, added in a bit of styling and now I’m living out my French country dreams 🤌🏻 The stain is by @fiddesaustralia and it’s one of their Nitro Stains in ‘smoked oak.’ This stuff is so incredible easy to use 🤌🏻 Then I sealed it with @feast_watson timber floor wax to maintain the matte finish but ensure it was kid proof (and a few wines deep proof)

  3. This is your gentle reminder to reuse it, thrift it and recycle it because there is no planet B. In Australia alone, around 150,000 tonnes of wrapping paper and gift packaging ends up in landfill every year… and the glittery, shiny, metallic stuff? Most of it can’t even be recycled. Cute and convenient for 5 minutes but landfill forever. So before you head to Kmart for a gift… * Try to buy second hand first. Op shops often have near brand new books, toys and knick knacks. * Wrap with newspaper, old wrapping paper, scrap fabric, tear up old t-shirts for ribbon and even use those cute fabric bags that things like sheets come in. * Gift Something You Already Own (but don’t use)That beautiful candle you never lit, the recipe book collecting dust… one of the thousands of toys from the grandparents! * Make a gift! Bake some cookies, pot a plant, pickle some cucumbers! I promise you a freshly baked loaf of bread with a side of home grown lemons will never not go down an absolute treat.
