  2. Since you all liked the last transformation vid, have another! Many people have asked “how did you do this?” And my answer is simple yet took me sooo long to discover. Firstly, consistency. This took me over 2 years however I did the bulk of the work in a year once I pulled my finger out 😂. Secondly, WALKING!!!! Walking literally saved me! I would walk usually around 10-20k steps per day on average and loved it! I hated the gym so I barely went lol (only went in the last 10kgs lost). Find what works for you! Thirdly, ACTUALLY being in a calorie deficit and one that is calculated for your specific activity level, age and measurements. Once I actually stuck to the deficit and overcame my binge eating, is when I actually finally made progress. Lastly, I made it a lifestyle change. No more quick fixes or fads, I have and will continue to stick to my new lifestyle as it makes me feel so good! This was the hardest journey I have ever been on but so worth the time it took!   3. This is super confronting to post but I am sharing in the hopes that this will give someone hope who might be in the position I was 4 years ago. I stumbled across this video I took when I was about to turn 19. Finding this video honestly broke my heart and made me so emotional because of the pain I remembered I was in emotionally. Losing weight was my every waking thought and I never EVER thought I would be able to get out of the horrible spiral I was in for YEARS. My self confidence was 0 even though I portrayed a bubbly and outgoing person on the outside, the inside girl was deeply insecure, unhappy and didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. The reason that I am sharing this is because I really want to give even just one person a glimmer of hope that they can get out of the bad place they are in, be it mentally or physically. We are our biggest critics and sometimes we don’t look back to see how far we have come and how things have changed for the better – but today I can look back and say I am so damn proud of the woman I have become. I have worked so incredibly hard to be the person I am today and have had the biggest mental and physical transformation (the mental even bigger than physical). Although it absolutely breaks my heart into a million pieces to watch that video I honestly just want to go back and tell myself that I WILL be healthy one day and I WILL achieve what I want.   3. Somewhere out there, a mum is doing this perfectly. THIS IS NOT THAT STORY! 👀🫠😆 If you grew up in Australia in the 80s, you know this book. It was the holy grail of childhood birthdays – every kid flipping through its pages, dreaming of the masterpiece their mum was going to create. I have fond memories of the cakes my mum baked for me and my sister. She gifted me her copy when I had children. Since then, every year I go to bake a cake from it there’s some sort of friggin disaster that has me in a panic until the early hours of the morning. 😆But I’ve learnt over the years that all disasters can be fixed with plenty of icing, fondant and a couple of skewers. 🤌👌Hahahaha. I stayed up late and didn’t finish until I was walking out the door but I am so happy with it. I can’t wait to wear it to the event (I think it might be the most sustainable dress in the world lol)

  1. WHAT DO AGENCIES WANT? Have you got a test shoot coming up? Or considering applying to an agency? I’ve worked with top modeling agencies for a number of years producing portfolios for their talent. Here’s some insight into what they are usually looking for. Your portfolio doesn’t need to be overkill. 8-10 solid new images per test shoot is enough. This will mean you need to learn how to cull your photos well, and it also means you don’t need the entire gallery from your photographer. Less is more. Natural hair and makeup is a must! It’s not uncommon for an agent to ask you to reshoot if they think your makeup is overdone. Strip it back, don’t be afraid to show your freckles and your flaws. Natural hair with texture and a little volume will go a long way. Minimal to no jewellery. Remember we aren’t shooting a jewellery campaign so try and avoid lots of accessories. You want your images to be timeless and last a couple of years. Most agencies will tell me to remove models jewellery before shooting, so take note 📝 Don’t forget a good headshot. If you’ve been asked to update your portfolio they’ll also want you to update your headshot while you’re there. This will be used for your web profile and comp cards so it will be one of your key images to obtain. As a photographer I like to aim to shoot 4-5 outfits with 2 solid images per outfit. This will give you your 8-10 images and a really good variety of looks. Anything above that is a bonus but not necessary. I personally like to change the background or lighting up slightly for each look to ensure there is enough diversity within the one session. Even though test shoots are usually charged at a lower rate, they can still be a big investment for a model so you want to ensure you can produce multiple looks within one session. ….Continued in comments ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
