  3. What six months can do. I have always been fairly active. The Les Mills and Spin classes. Hikes and walks. Some hot yoga and pilates. But nothing too intense. And nothing i loved. After 5 years, 3 kids, 2 pregnancies, 3 years of breastfeeding i decided it was time to get back to it. I was known as the mum who walked for a while. 2 kids in the pram. One in the baby carrier. And off id go. June 2025. The yard opened. D - “Hey babe do you wanna help out in creche at the gym”. And that was it. I went to the open day. Solo. Without a friend. Out of my comfort zone. Came home crying. “Michael i am so puffy and unfit”. And to be honest. I didn’t change much. I didn’t try too hard. I didn’t have a goal. I didn’t restrict. I didn’t eliminate. I didn’t diet. I didn’t count calories. I just simply stayed consistent. My alarm went off at 4:30 every morning. Yes. Every morning. And i simply rocked up. Some days i gave 90%. Some days 70%. Some days 20%. Some days i gave nothing at all but simply rocking up was enough for that day. I personally don’t think there is a huge physical difference between the 6 months. Why? Ya girl looooves to eat, and binge eat (working on that 😂) BUT WHAT HAS CHANGED? My mind - stronger My knees - stronger (yes even with the running) My body - stronger My fitness - stronger My endurance- stronger My mindset - stronger I got told i looked a little too muscular the other day. And that i should calm down. My response “you just dont get it” Never in a million years did i think id be doing what im doing. Lifting the weights im lifting and running the kms im running. What am i training for? Nothing. But everything at the same time ♥️. The gym. The community. The friendships. Life changing. Sorry for the cringe post.   1. We have our own little home set up with more than enough to get us through. It may not be the premium facilities I'm used to but I still have to wait for the equipment and the only other member smells so it's just like being at the gym 🤣 Martin needed to use all the plates to deadlift so I did a mostly banded workout. Bands actually work really well on your smaller muscle groups and they are a space and money friendly way to add variety and resistance. Need help with exercise ideas? Reach out and I'll help you with a plan. Make sure you take the time to exercise. If not for the sake of fitness then at least for your mental health. Being cooped up inside watching the news is the worst thing you can do. Distract yourself.

  2. Quite often this thought used to cross my mind: "maybe I should lose some muscle so people can think I'm attractive." It's pretty messed up how my self value was based on other people accepting me. People who don't know me, my story or give an actual damn about me. Remember if you do things because you think it will make other people like you, then you are allowing others to control you. Work on accepting yourself first.

  3. Opportunity presents itself in weird and wonderful ways. With all the hoopla, it seemed inevitable that my competition would be postponed and today we got the final confirmation that it's been pushed back 6 weeks. Things are still uncertain, who knows what will happen between now and then but it's still very much one foot in front of the other as I now have the opportunity to be peeled to the eyeballs and bring an EVEN BETTER, completely shredded package to the stage.

  2. when was the last time you’ve done something for yourself and took control of your own thoughts and willpower? for me it’s my commitment to train and show up everyday. there might be times when i have NO motivation to get up because it’s freezing or i didn’t get enough sleep the night before or my tummy is causing discomfort or it’s my time of the month, whatever it is, i don’t look for motivation’s presence. motivation is fleeting. i would find myself low on motivation and this becomes my biggest excuse. this is why i learnt to rely on DISCIPLINE. and like all skills discipline can be learnt. if you practice and when your discipline strengthens everything becomes second nature. you’re able to say no to the voices that’s pulling you down and fight off of all negative thoughts.   1. so i turned 20 today and i think its time i address this publicly and openly, i have a very very rare version of an already very rare autoimmune disease called vitiligo. this usually affects the colour/pigment of the skin on someone's body. however in my circumstance i have it on my facial hair. i cannot change this, it is incurable. i will more than likely have it for the rest of my life, it will likely spread too. yes i have had a brown moustache before its because i dyed it to hide an insecurity. it isn't exactly easy standing out in a crowd having a two toned moustache. wherever i go whenever i go out, i will always hands down get stared at, glanced at, looked at strangely, i get comments wherever i go typically "there's something on your lip" "why'd you bleach or dye your moustache" and many more. I'm not bothered by it anymore after years of this happening, however i felt the need to express what it is i actually have to not only open people up to the condition but also hope to inspire others with the condition or any condition to not be ashamed of who you are, you are you for a reason, don't ever let yourself get down due to an "imperfection" or "irregularity" everyone is different and it doesn't change who you are. keep on being you. ❤️ #vitiligo #awareness

  3. This is one year of growth... physically and mentally. I look back at that first photo and see a woman who was scared to eat more - even though I knew I needed it to build more muscle and increase strength, but my mindset was holding me back. I was so scared of putting on weight, getting "fat" and going back to an old version of myself - very overweight*, unhappy and unhealthy. BUT since working with my amazing coach, and being surrounded by so many inspiring, uplifting, strong, healthy and fit women, I have learnt SO much about nutrition, training, fuelling my body (and mind), and how much we can shape, adapt and change our bodies IF we put the work in. Who would have thought that the difference between these two sets of photos is 2kg on the scale, and an extra 1,000 calories - daily (which will likely increase again soon)! I'm not saying that it's all been rainbows and unicorns (it hasn't!), and it can certainly be confronting and uncomfortable along the way, but that's how we as humans grow... by pushing ourselves OUT of our comfort zone, that's where the magic happens. It's a hard truth to swallow, and I remind myself of it all the time. Cannot wait to see what the next year of growth holds for me as I am feeling stronger and more determined than ever to push myself for the greatest results.
